There you go. Patsos asks us on the official visit who we wanted to play first MD or Georgetown? I said Georgetown and its done I was confident and never concerned about the schedule. Patsos is a man of his word once again. Well lets see how you feel if we win the MAAC this year and get a 15/16-- because that's what we are looking at-- probably something similar next year-- in case you dont know a 16 has no chance--- a 15 has slim to no chance. I dont want to hear anyone bitching we got screwed in the seed ( if we are lucky enough to get the bid) also unless you finish 1st no chance at NIT bid.. We will be fine if we win the games in front of us....we will not get a higher seed if we play more HMs and lose all of the games. Winning games vs other DI teams is better than losing to teams just to say we had a tough schedule. Last seasons schedule should have been this season probably but that is water under the bridge. We just have to win and our RPI will be fine after winning the MAAC

2k. The worst possible tournament. Basically two guarantee games plus two additional road/neutral games. Why not just host a few more games at the tuc? We are up and coming. ..its probably difficult to get good teams the fan base wants to see to come to our home court. I hope Syracuse accepts the 2 for 1

I believe the road map to that is set. The road will be bumpy but I can see it. Will you be happy then reguardless of who is on the schedule?

Yes even w/a "3peat" if the schedule is such that the team continues to get a poor (13-16) seed in the NCAA's.

Ok so lets say we get a decent seed and win some NCAA games every year. Will you be happy then? I believe winning the games in front of us along with the MAAC title we will be fine.

Before everyone finds fault with Jimmy on this, it is my sense that the school did not want to commit the $ needed to get home games in this or a similar tournament. The College stepped up last season for the CBI and did not have its best financial year as reported in the press. My guess is that the timing for another significant expenditure to get a couple of home games that probably would not excite the average fan could not have been worse.

These kinds of things are why I don't have much faith in Siena going anywhere other than the maac. When times are good, they screw up the coaching hire when times are bad they tighten their belts. Always a day late and a dollar short. Throw in some bad luck timing and I'm afraid it just isn't in the cards for Siena. I'm pretty sure the roller coaster of coaching hires etc will continue. Patsos will eventually move on and we will sling a bunch of names against the wall again

I think people are being a little too critical. Siena is still going to play 14 regular season home games (and if things go according to plan 17 home games the next 3 years with the tournament at the TUC). The two games in Rhode Island really are not a big deal. Siena is not Kentucky the school has to be judicious in how they spend their money. Why spend the money when (as you said Knick) you're only going to bring in some names that people aren't going to get overly excited about?? Besides if you win the games in Rhode Island it is better for your RPI as they will be road (against Bryant) or neutral (against Radford or another the opponent TBD). Next year's team will be a junior laden team. Two great opportunities on national TV to play at Georgetown in DC and either in historic Cameron Indoor stadium or at a school who we should aspire to be like (VCU). Those games even with losses are great to boost your RPI up provided to win a lot of games against the rest of your schedule. I would like to see us play on a neutral site tournament against some big boys and try get more quality mid-majors (A10, CAA teams) to agree to a home and home. If SU won't agree to that home and home call Providence or another good high-major and work something out. My main issue is staying away from four year series with Cornell and potentially Loyola in the future. Don't get tied down with too many of those series over a long period. That is my main concern.

I don't want to be overly critical here and I am generally happy with the direction of the program compared to the last regime obviously, but honestly wth? We can't schedule home games because they cost too much money? So instead we travel to Duke and Georgetown for two losses, then play two more games against deadbeat programs with no returns, with one of them potentially on their home floor? Aren't home games supposed to bring in revenue? We have 3,000 core fans who wouldn't skip a beat if extra games were added to the cost of the season ticket package-- a fact brought out by the four extra games the cbi gave us. I don't understand with our top 100 attendance why we continually play 14 home games and 15-17 road games year after year. I was thinking perhaps the CBI gave us the home games, in return we had to put up with this farce. If we did this on our own that's even more perplexing.

Gorvy, the school lost money on the CBI, which was more prestigious than the "consolation rounds of the 2K Classic and had less competition for the sports fan's attention. We are talking about the Final Four and the opening of the baseball season vs. the NFL, college football, college basketball and the prospect of Siena coming into that weekend 0-2. If people didn't't show up for the likes of Penn State and Fresno State, why should we expect them to do so for Bryant, Radford and TBA?

I am grateful Siena put up the money for the CBI games last year. Though it ultimately took a ROAD win at Fresno State - we likely don't win the CBI without playing five home games. It will help us greatly this season in hopefully winning a MAAC championship and gave us a much needed winning season and championship banner to raise. BTW - How do they determined whether Siena plays at Duke or at VCU (in addition to Georgetown)? Is there a formula to it or simply to be determined/announced? I have no illusions about winning at Duke (homer refs) (too bad it wasn't on a neutral court ask Lehigh/Mercer!) but Georgetown and VCU - Let's go why not us? We're going to be very good (hopefully even better) next year too. Bring 'em on
