I believe Siena will have best starting 5 in MAAC this season; we certainly have fewest question marks. We are set with Wright-Poole-Long- Bisping. Question comes at the 5- right now it’s a 3 way battle between JO-WB and Silas. All 3 bring their own strengths. Silas is best shot blocker, JO best defender and rebounder, WB best offensive player. It’s still September but right now JO is playing the best of the 3, coaches normally favor defense, so I’m leaning towards him. WB has a lot of potential, kid is tough and very athletic , so he is going to get time regardless.Silas plays so damn hard, problem is he is a fouling machine ( even in practice ) Silas brings tremendous shot blocking ability, but he is a liability on offense and of course his turnovers, on plus side coaches always like seniors. WB is getting better every day and JO has really matured physically and emotionally - he has really looked good so far this season.
Evan Hymes has looked good so far, kid is buying into what his role will be this year, I think his BMOC attitude is out the door. I expect a solid year out of Evan in his limited role this year. Patrick Cole is soooooooo damn confident, Maurice has looked good and of course Oliver is rock solid. Jimmy Paige looks to be settling in and has looked better as he gets more comfortable. The battle for playing time will be intense and you can see that in practice and pick up.
This team is going to win a lot of games this year, we should be in for a fun year and with MAAC tournament in Albany, I really like our chances

Athleticism is an issue with that lineup. I still think Cole should be the fifth starter given that lineup.
Haven't seen Ogunyemi yet so I lean toward Silas starting with a quick hook if he's having one of "those" games. If Brandwijk his the ground running I could see him soaking up a lot of PT.
NEED to find a way to get Cole on the floor. Cole and lavon will really open things up for poole

I'll take guys who can shoot and put the ball in the hoop over limited offensive big men who may block a few shots anytime. I hope Hymes, Oliver and Paige see more PT than some expect.

PG: Wright SG: Poole SF: Long PF: Bisping C: JO
That's the starting five we'll see to start the year is my guess. The first four off the bench will likely be Cole, White, Brandwijk and Hymes. Oliver, Paige and Silas will see spot minutes when certain games call for it (match-ups, foul trouble etc). Going to be very tough for Wolfe or Gottfried to get many meaningful minutes on this team. But the great thing is competition will be fierce if a player struggles on a particular night Jimmy has options to turn to someone else for that game.
There may not be a superstar (though Wright and Long have superstar potential) on the roster right now but this team is very talented and has great depth. I expect us to wear teams down (i.e. an Iona) who only go 6 or 7 deep.

Oliver had a limited run and is limited athletically. I like him as a sniper coming off bench and also giving energetic defense with his long arms. I think we see a smaller lineup more with
Wright Cole Poole Long Brett

I would guess—that whoever starts at 5--- you will see Cole very quickly into game moving Brett to 5 and Lavon to 4—which gives us a much quicker team-- with Poole Lavon and Bisping at 2-3-4 all 3 are below avg speed wise at their position—Sliding Brett and Lavon over to 4 and 5 respectfully makes us much quickly athletically, WB will help with that also

Plus with Jimmy's quirky moods we could again see many starting line ups depending on previous game and match ups that night

I dont see the starting 5 changing from last year.
Wright Poole Long Bisping Silas
JO or WB can take Silas spot if he is still getting in foul trouble but we wont need many points from the 5 spot. We need the best defender and rebounder there. I do see alot of the Poole Long Bisping combo at the 2-3-4 and 3-4-5 depending on the matchup. Cole will come in as a 1,2 or 3 and thats why he will get alot of mins. The more you can do the more you will play. WB has the best chance of all the freshmen to earn time.

I think we will have a lot of games that will start with familiar line-ups but after halftime will look totally different depending on matchup problems and who's hot and who's not. I think our boys will get a lot of playing time across the board because there are going to be games (fingers crossed) that Siena is controlling and Jimmy is going to be able to play a lot of people. Hopefully we will have games where several players are contributing off the bench which will allow Jimmy the luxury to play deeper than 8. I think our depth might make the difference (be the deciding factor) in where we finish in the MAAC this year. As in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

I want Silas in for the only jump ball of the game. How long he stays in depends on him each game. He's a senior and deserves to start, as long as he's woring his butt off in practice.
He might get 5 min one game, and 25 the next, depending on match-ups with our opponents.

Unless JO develops and is clearly better overall than Silas then you let Silas start even if he's out a minute or two in.

Silas, JO, WB, Brett 4/5, maybe a little Wolfe. Man, have we come a long ways in a short time. With Jimmy we sure aren't going to ever have a depth problem.

Now the thing is finding the right combinations and playing the right guys in certain situations. It is also going to be tough to keep everyone happy with their playing time. Some guys buy into it others will bitch and moan. No team really uses a 10 man rotation if you're using 10 that means your first 5 doesn't deserve the majority of the minutes .
