Poole has a great perspective. ..I agree 100 percent. I have said from day one that this team has balance and its not about one player...we will win championships as a team

@marksingelais: I correct an earlier stat: Siena men's basketball returns 7,634 minutes (99.1 percent) of a possible 7,700 minutes played last year.

It’s going to be a fun year- going into season this team sort of reminds me of Hewitt’s teams of the late 90’s-- we are not overly athletic or quick, but we have a lot of depth and basketball players

It’s going to be a fun year- going into season this team sort of reminds me of Hewitt’s teams of the late 90’s-- we are not overly athletic or quick, but we have a lot of depth and basketball players Siena now plays a grind-it-out style similar to the great Butler teams. It all comes from how Patsos instills that toughness. I still don't know how he managed to win 23 games with Loyola 2 years ago. They couldn't score. They couldn't shoot. They had 3.5 good players and they were all slumping. They lost their PG for half the year due to suspension. Etherly got hurt for a bit. Olsen and Cormier both had an off year shooting. But they won. The way Patsos gets his team competing combined with tough inside/outside guys like Poole, Bisping, and Brandwijk...they just seem to have that old Butler/Northern Iowa Midwest-esque feel. And Wright even puts up fairly Nored-esque numbers too. Even back when Butler was great, you looked at that team and thought from an athleticism standpoint...how are these guys doing it? I see a little of that in this team. They aren't an offensive juggernaut. They just grind. And because of the types of recruits and depth in experience we have, the toughness goes deep. WB and Paige have some grit to them. Hymes is soft but can be a change of pace with speed, agility, and energy. Wolfe is soft but he is just athletic freak too. The rest of the scholarship players just play tough. Combine that with Wright's ability to manage the turnover margin battle, Patsos' ability to keep games within striking distance, and more scoring options and experience than last year...and you have the makings for a winning team. If the Saints find another efficient star scorer to go with Poole and Bisping, they could win 25+.

Team looks good.. all the players have gotten bigger and stronger ( as you would expect with an underclass dominated team we had last year) WB can really get up over the rim. Paige looks much more comfortable than he did in June. White has really improved, competition for playing time is going to be crazy this year - we are a very, very deep team, there doesn't look to be a big gap in talent between our 5th and 11th or 12th man

Hard to tell by seeing a practice here or there- but I have been hearing JO is playing well. And apparently Jimmy agrees
Siena Coach Jimmy Patsos says Troy product Javion Ogunyemi may be the most improved player. And I should add if JO isn't the most improved player Maurice White is
TW 9 did a interview with him last night..Ogunyemi says he knows he didn't play up to his potential last year at #Siena. Hear what changes he made in Sports-- I haven't been able to get on line link- did anyone see interview?

wow! JP really looks good. He's really lost quite a bit of weight. I wonder if he stayed with the yoga.
