You wont find many freshmen in DI ball that finishes strong at the rim even though they did it in HS... the few that did are in the NBA right now.

We all want a guy that can "finish at the rim," but not our PG. I'd much rather have him be able to pass well, and hit open 3's. THAT is our weakness.

Well when Wright goes out of the game, we don't lose a rim attacker, we lose a general that sets up his teammates. THAT is what this kids first priority should be. 2nd, make open jumpers, and 3 get to the rim.

If Wormely cant hit open jumpers he wont play much his first two years playing behind Wright. If he is going to play the two he will have to be able to shoot and shoot well

We have a lot of player that can get to the rim But Jimmy offense doesn't allow you to do that.At the end of the day as long as we win it doesn't matter to me who score.

If that's the case maybe the new guys will see more time than expected. Outside shooting is a major weakness I hope some of the new guys help that weakness.

Can you explain how JPs offense prevents players from getting to the rim? I would think that JP or any coach would want players to get to the rim.

You didn't get the memo? He was obviously sarcastically saying that because Siena shoots the least amount of threes per game, by far, in the MAAC and was 3rd in offensive FT rate. Not too mention utilizing the three ball to the tune of just 19% or 335th in the nation. Silas sucks at blocking shots.

Its just a little too clogged up to attack the rim as often as you guys might want. I just want the 2 or 3 pts each possession. We were effective with passing cutting and setting screens in the half court. Often getting wide open layups from a backdoor screen and passes....looking for the layups to be dunks and assist to go up as we finish better

Teams played off Marquis- that’s one of the many reasons why he has to be at least a threat from 3… With continued development of players, the addition of Cole and Brandwijk, hopefully we have more threats from outside which should open up the lane a bit more

So now you understand Tony... be patient and the results will come #PlayerDevelopment Lavon needs to shoot more if he's gonna play the SF. It's not just Wright. Lavon was the better shooter coming in. He needs to shoot more just to keep defenses honest. Even like 30 attempts a year may be enough. You have to at least make people think you might want to shoot it.

You have to at least make people think you might want to shoot it. Siena will certainly need Lavon (although Im not sure I want him launching from the perimeter) or the four to stretch the D. As long as three players on the floor are unwilling unable to stretch the D on a regular basis... teams will pack it in a bit. I really don't like the idea of the rebounders being stretched from the paint jacking up threes but with the current makeup of the team its going to take a continued focus on team rebounding. Im hoping we see Poole more at the three this year and Cole at the two or vice versa. Poole is FAR more effective at the three.
