From our good friend Steve Amedio..predicted order of finish
Iona, Siena, Saint Peter's, Quinnipiac and Manhattan.
For what its worth I think the coaches picks will be pretty close to that. As we know Iona failed to pick up a significant player through transfer, JuCo and prison yards. Last I heard Amayo still wasn't playing, without him or if he isn't the player Iona fans claim Iona slips considerably. Like us SPC returns a lot and will be good. Both Quinny and Manhattan have potential to be very good. Should be very competitive at top of MAAC with any of the 5 teams listed having a shot of winning MAAC. With our youth the MAAC better get Siena this year, or we may be staring another 3 peat straight in the face

Is it possible that a team not finishing 1 or 2 wins the tournament this year?

Is it possible that a team not finishing 1 or 2 wins the tournament this year? Didn't we already go over this? Sure it is possible but the odds say it will be the #1 or #2 seed who wins the tournament. I like Siena's chances to win the regular season and postseason championship. All the contenders have question marks but I think Siena has the fewest. We've got a very good PG, a do everything all-star and two really talented upperclassmen in the starting line-up. The first three off the bench should be very solid (Cole, White, JO) - and Brandwijk looks like an impact freshman. We might be the most talented and deepest team in the league and we have one of the best coaches as well. I am excited for the season!!!

With 11 teams and two more league games these numbers might not be as consistent. One game could separate 2nd to 5th. Time will tell on the 1&2 winning the tournament with a 20 game schedule.

Sorry, but there's no way Rob is one of the top 5, or even 10, players in the MAAC.
A simple case of best senior on a contending team. This is why these things are usually off.

you may be right but he's going to have a great year with our developing roster.

you may be right but he's going to have a great year with our developing roster. I agree and you don't have to be a top 5 or 10 talent to make the 1st or 2nd team. I'm not saying Poole's a superstar but the kid put up some HUGE games last year with the defense mainly keying on him. He's a very good player. I expect Rob to have an outstanding year as a senior.

I actually expect the freshman, Bisping and Oliver, to step up more offensively this year. and Rob to remain our deep threat and solid defender. I think his days of taking 13-18 shots a game is over.

I wouldn't expect much from Paige as a frosh. He has a lot of guys in front of him (Poole, Cole, Oliver, White). I expect Brandwijk to see a decent amount of time as he should be an impact guy right away. Oliver will be the instant offense and three point shooter off the bench. Poole may or may not be our leading scorer. I see Poole, Bisping, Long and Cole averaging in the 13-16 PPG range. Wright might even average 10 PPG if his outside shot improves. He's more of a scorer than Ronald Moore was. Jimmy has a lot of options. We have 14 players but only 10 are going to be in the main rotation - that leaves four guys not playing (could be a different four from game to game). Jimmy needs to up the tempo and run and press with that kind of quality depth. Hopefully we wear opponents down (like Iona who only plays six guys) and pull away late in games. We need to average in the 73-75 PPG range to win the MAAC championship.

I said this before....if we get picked high in the preseason our leading scorer will make first team in the preseason and if we win or make it to the ship our leading scorer will make the first team. Its all about the numbers and everyone in the league is not measured just the top scorers on the top teams for these awards. When we win it all this year Poole will make first team if he leads us in scoring again.
