Win the 1st three MAAC games and it's over. 3-0 vs. Quinny, @rider, and vs. Iona would put the Saints in the driver's seat and be quite demoralizing for Iona fans. The pressure would then be on Quinny and Iona to beat us at their place or perish.
If we lose those home games it could have the opposite effect. We then would have to win on the road to gain ground.

I hate to beat a dead horse but the MAAC continues to go head-to-head with the NFL too much. The Bucknell game was probably scheduled for a Sunday to give the teams more time to get back from Christmas break - I get that. But to play on wildcard Sunday, divisional Sunday AND championship Sunday is ridiculous with the first two being home games. Meanwhile no game on Super Bowl Sunday which actually isn't a bad time to play (with a 1pm tip-off).
Otherwise it's not a terrible schedule. The Buffalo trip (doesn't appear as daunting this year) is in mid-January. Closing the season with two road games won't be easy (at Quinnipiac, at Monmouth). We also will have two three game home-stands (Jan. 4 Iona, Jan. 8 Niagara, Jan. 11 Fairfield) and (Feb. 14 Monmouth, Feb. 19 Canisius, Feb. 21 Manhattan a Saturday night game most likely.
I like $cott's thinking let's go into the Jan. 4 game with Iona undefeated or at least with only a couple of losses :-)

I like the fact we play Quinny and Iona early and at home, we should be able to kick them in the teeth and show them there is a new sheriff in town

Should Siena get the desired result, we won't be showing them there's a new sheriff in town - but rather that the original one is back from hiatus.

Too many Sunday and Monday games. These don't help the attendance figures.
