REad this article - he was actually going to commit to Siena and we yanked the offer. Now he doesn't even know if he can go D1.
Albany, NY basketball sniper Joel Wincowski looked to be on his way.

With a division I offer in his pocket and Ivy Leagues showing major interest, the rising senior seemed to be in the driver's seat of his own destiny. But the recruiting process is a slippery slope, learned the hard way.
Wincowski, who had an offer from Siena, originally decided that he wanted to commit to the MAAC College that had been recruiting him heavily throughout high school. Shortly thereafter, he had second thoughts.
"After I made my decision, I wasn't really sure what was to come," said Wincowski who admitted that the recruiting process became overwhelming. "I had different Ivy League schools that were talking to me and I was like, with that type education to go with basketball... I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do," he conceded.
When the 6'2" sharpshooter from Lake George HS finally came to the realization that Siena would be a good fit for him, Wincowski said, "They kinda lost interest in me." The rising senior said he now realizes that when he delayed his decision, Siena probably had to cover their back as well. "They probably had another guy that they were looking at," he concluded.
To add insult to injury (or better stated the other way around), the combo guard wasn't really able to show off his talents during the recent Fab 48 tournament last weekend in Las Vegas. Playing with his AAU squad, the Northeast Shooters, Wincowski could not get lift on his shot or play defense like he was accustomed to and the team finished poorly. "I sprained my ankle [weeks earlier] during the Adidas Invitational in Indiana," he said. Playing on basically one leg, Wincowski still managed to torch defenders on occasion and drained four treys in one quarter during nail biting final game in Vegas.
"Wincowski does a little bit of everything for Lake George up in the Capitol region," said NYCHoops.net's Mike Libert. "He runs the show playing the 1, but his ability to create for himself and score is impressive. Maybe the flat out best shooter in New York State, Wincowski shot 48% from beyond the arc this season while scoring almost 30 points a game. Playing in Class "C" he often times gets overlooked, though colleges certainly are paying attention, but his quick release off the dribble, and his ability to fire anywhere on the court makes him lethal."
Truth be told, Wincowski would be a steal for the right school. As a result of the injury and his re-emergence onto the recruiting scene, he's flying under the radar right now even though his resume is impressive.
The volume scorer says he now wiser and more realistic as the result of the experience "If it's not Division I, it's not Division I," Wincowski said. Now he just wants to play basketball at a College that can utilize his talents.
