Seems Masiello is assuming the Saints won't improve on offense. Don't worry I "sent a guy."

I bet it was Cluess who said it. He's obviously shaking in his boots about the Saints having lost half of his playing rotation. :-)
Kinda funny to say Siena "peaked"...Long and Wright were FRESHMEN - no guarantees but we all know the good players make their biggest jump during their sophomore season. Plus you add Cole who is a third year sophomore and add in improvements from JO and White. I do agree what you see is what you'll get from Bisping and Poole but they could be more dangerous on offense (especially Poole) when he won't have three guys draped on him all game long.
But I do agree we need to score more to win the league (both regular and postseason)...with more depth/experience Jimmy needs to push the pace more- quicker shots and average at least 72-74 PPG.

Poole gets more efficient ever year. I don't know why people continue to downplay Bisping. Poole: 14.6 ppg, 5 rpg Bisping: 14.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg (prorated to Poole's minutes) I think Bisping is still on the upswing. He averaged around 33 mpg in the postseason but just 27 mpg on the year.

My long shot, not really a long shot, is white. I like the kid and I think he has a lot of potential. I'm Looking for him to play less tentatively and with more confidence.

I'm not downplaying either Poole or Bisping but they are upperclassmen - they should improve but Long/Wright/JO/White are the guys who will have the huge improvements we all expect. Poole (as I posted above) will simply be better with a guy like Cole who will command more attention. Plus if Wright develops a decent outside shot and Long continues to improve his offensive game. Saying Siena peaked is pretty dumb whoever said it. It just reeks to me as "fear" that the MAAC is in for potentially another three year run with the tournament in Albany. Kind of reminds me when Tommy Dempsey said Siena was overrated going into the season after we smoked Vanderbilt. We all know how that turned out. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/notebook?page=notebook/shootaround/maac"Siena's going to be the unanimous [preseason] pick, but I also think they gained so much momentum in the last couple of weeks [of the season]," said Rider head coach Tommy Dempsey, whose team shared the regular-season crown with the Saints and returns four starters itself. "All of a sudden they whack Vandy, and now suddenly nobody can beat them. … I don't think they've separated themselves like everyone else does." At least he put his name on it...maybe it was Billy Madison the sneak lol

I don’t think it’s any secret that the Saints have to score more this year and shoot a better pct—if they do Siena will be tough to beat – if they score only around 70ppg—then we will still be tough…but probably finish top 3 or 4. Remember this is new territory for Jimmy, one of the reasons why he never won a regular season MAAC title is his teams never could score..if Jimmy micro manages the offense like he did for most of last year – I don’t look for much improvement in the offense. And I should add with all the freshmen and playing a new system it was understandable why he did that. If he lets the team play like we did the last game vs Fresno the MAAC is in big trouble
I think the biggest question mark for next year’s team is Jimmy himself- his teams have never averaged over 70—can he take advantage of our depth and let the offense flow… or will he slow the team down and get into a bunch of half court slug outs—which Siena will still win their share.. the biggest question mark is can Jimmy take the next step as head coach

We just have to win the conference tournament to get the bid. Loyola did that under Patsos. We will do that here at least once and maybe 3x in the next 3 years at home. The regular season will be used to prepare for that. A top 5 finish again is the goal to get the bye.

The regular season will be used to prepare for that. A top 5 finish again is the goal to get the bye. A top 5 finish is not the goal for Siena this year-- that kind of talk might have flown at Loyola-- but will not at Siena. Siena long stated goal is to win the MAAC every year-- of course we wont do that every year. but thats the goal..If Jimmy comes out and says the goal is to finish top 5 he would get boo'd off the TUC floor-- anything less than a 3rd place finish this year will be terribly disappointing .. plus with the weak non conference schedule.. a 4th or 5th place finish and then winning the MAAC would just about guarantee a NCAA PiG appearance -- no thanks. And BTW personally I have zero interest in a CBI or CIT bid this year. I fully supported it last year- I will not this year Jimmy had a free pass last year-- not so much going forward. And let me be clear, I am in no way criticizing Jimmy- he did a wonderful job last year. And I am hoping he can "up" his game this year. I feel pretty good he has Saints headed in right direction.

While we all want to get back to the NCAA tourney, winning the regular season would assure a trip to the NIT if there is a slip-up in the conference tournament. While the NIT seeds the teams, a strong regular season might get us some non-bought post-season home games against better opponents than the CBI provided. That having been said, it would be nice if the class of 2015 could experience what every preceding senior scholarship class since the Class of 2008 has experienced, a trip to the Big Dance.

I'd be fine with NIT-- much rather have NCAA-- but yes the NIT is a nice consolation prize for having a strong regular season. Another reason why you want a strong regular season finish

That having been said, it would be nice if the class of 2015 could experience what every preceding senior scholarship class since the Class of 2008 has experienced, a trip to the Big Dance. Because our OOC schedule is weak there's a potential scenario, for example, where we could go 21-8 in the regular season (15-5 and finish second) - lose in the MAAC finals and be 23-9 and only go to the CIT. I wouldn't say it's very likely considering you'd have to like Siena's chances at 15-5 to finish in first. But stranger things have happened and someone could also get to 15 wins and win the tiebreaker. That would stink but I certainly would not call the season a disappointment. I still would want the team to participate in the CIT should that happen but it would be a letdown. The goal should always be the NCAA tournament either via a conference tournament championship or at-large bid (which is attainable in the 68 team field). Also if you schedule well you can snag an NIT at-large should you finish second. This is also why I hope Jimmy is loading the 2015-2016 schedule up when the current sophomores will be rising juniors. There is still a few spots to fill and it's important they are against quality opponents. The MAAC's best chance is to get us this year. If they don't they are looking at the very real possibility of the RE-PEAT THREE-PEAT!

I get it Tony. I just expect to win a couple MAAC Championships and get to the NCAA tournament. My goal is to do that every year. winning the regular season and getting a bid to the NIT is not what I am looking forward to as much. If its not the NCAAs then its one of the others to me. To win the conference tournament is easier done with a high seed I will give you that but I would rather peak at the end than the beginning.

That's fine PPC-- but Siena's goal is to win the MAAC's regular season title-- lock up a NIT bid-- then play the MAAC tournament on our home floor for NCAA bid. That's why you set your goals high- will it be the end of the world if we finish second and win the MAAC tournament-- no of course not.. hell it wouldn't be end of the world to finish 2nd or 3rd in regular season and flame out in MAAC tournament- its not easy to win the bid. But lets set our goals high. Both the regular season title and MAAC tournament title will be tough to win, but both are attainable this year

If WB is good, it may accomplish the same thing. If not, then whom should play at that other spot, alongside those other people.
