Mid-seventies is when I started going to Siena games and Bill Kirsch was one of the reasons I fell in love with Siena basketball. JP falls right in with the Kirsches and the Deanes in our history. They're all such colorful personalities AND they win.

I am from the class of 1980. Bill Kirsch was a coach who drove me crazy with his tirades and ref baiting as the team fought to prove they belonged in division 1.
Then I went to Hofstra for grad school. I will not name names but their team was an unwatchable disorganized mess.
It was only then that I gained a true appreciation for Bill Kirsch's coaching. And as the impact of being division 1 became clearer and understanding his role in making that happen...I can only say thanks Coach! And thanks again Coach!
