PPC - have you seen Cavanaugh play? I haven't seen Cavanaugh play but I've seen our boy play for two years. I've read many comments about Brett that have been negative and/or underestimated his ability. Nearly all of that has disappeared as he has improved in leaps and bounds. I think that many are still under appreciating what we have here with this kid. He played a lot of minutes last year against some quality competition and proved that he can play at a high level. Last season I got very exciting whenever I reminded myself that it was only his second year. With the whole package of what he is and what he can do I'm thrilled we have him. Cavanaugh may be a stud but is he the same type of versatile player that Brett is? (high post/low post)

I like Brett too. You missed my point as I do t know how you can blindly make a choice in a comparative situation if you have not analyzed both options.

I like Brett too. You missed my point as I do t know how you can blindly make a choice in a comparative situation if you have not analyzed both options. I wanted Cavanaugh as much as the next guy. He has more bounce than Bisping sure. But he's shot just 27.8% from three at Wake. Brett has shot 33.8% here. The real reason though that I would take Brett is what we've seen of intangibles. The drawn charges, the key buckets, etc.. Defensively Cavanaugh has been a no-show and not much better on the boards. You give him some pass for being in the ACC but really he's been very unimpressive in that area to date. Remember Bisping had some big double doubles this year. They came against Memphis, Illinois State, Penn St., Marist and Quinny. Quinny led the nation in rebounding. They are no slouches in the frontcourt. He also scored 20 pts in the other game vs. Quinny. He went for 16 & 8 vs Purdue and 13 & 7 vs the Bonnies before he really got his groove on. Purdue's Hammons was one of the best shotblockers in the country. Brett does alright and he's getting better. I would not trade him for Cavanaugh.
