Its unusual to play 10 players every game... more like 10 constantly fighting to be in the 7 man playing group for the upcoming game in practice. .by the end of the season that 7 will be established and going beyond that number will depend on each game.

Wright Poole Bisping Long Oliver Paige Brandwijk Cole
That's already 8.
Hymes Silas Wolfe JO White Gottfried
I think there are going to be a few guys that we are accustomed to seeing play sitting on the bench a lot more.
A 7 man rotation would absolutely piss a lot of quality players off.
Even 10 guys and you're still looking at 4 of these guys getting Hopper and Audu minutes.

The freshmen will have to earn their way into playing group. Both will have their hands full. WB has a better shot, he is competing against Silas, JO,Brett and Wolfe. Paige has to beat out Long-Poole- Cole- Oliver- White and possibly Hymes... even though they are seniors I see WB's min coming from Silas.. and Hymes will get a few min a game as back up point very little time at two we are too deep.. really a lot of options for Jimmy this year -- we can go small and quick,.. large and slow or middle of road

I also think JO, White, and possibly Wolfe will be ahead of the freshman, especially at the start of the year. -If JO continues to block shots and rebounds a bit more, he could easily overtake Silas cause he makes less turnover mistakes. I agree. He could be #9. -White has a lot of defensive energy which we may need but I have trouble seeing us benching Paige or Oliver when we also need more shooters. And from my viewing of Paige and his available stats, he also takes care of the ball too. An advantage they'd both also have over White. White really didn't end up rebounding the ball that much better than Oliver when it was all said and done either. And Paige is the biggest of the three. -Hymes' mins are in trouble. I agree. Cole and Oliver have both played point and are bigger. He'd be #10 right now just for his experience and speed. -Wolfe is a wild card. Even with a few more pounds, will he defend? If he does, then sure. He has so many skills offensively and athletically. Wright Poole Bisping Long Oliver Paige Brandwijk Cole JO Hymes That's the most likely 10 guys I think. The JO vs Silas battle is still up in the air. Maybe most games we only even need the top 8 but that all depends on Brandwijk I think.

It will still be an item that we'll crave in our lineup. If Hymes isn't playing where are all those threes and points he had going to come from? We still aren't that great a scoring team. It will need to come from other shooters. That's where Oliver and Paige come in. I think we all should have learned by now that there should not me more than 2 of White, Wright, Long, JO, and Silas on the court at the same time if we want to score points. It was kind of the moral of all of last season. We didn't start winning a lot until Oliver made people guard another perimeter guy besides Poole.

All I know is our press and toughness improve substantially when White is on the court. How much of a hit on offense that is worth is tough to quantify. I do think White could improve quite a bit offensively though and if he does he will very much be a part of the rotation. If he shoots 35% again he obviously won't see much time but I don't see that happening.

2013-2014 Wright 1318 mins Poole 1289 mins Bisping 1023 mins Long 1002 mins Hymes 753 mins Silas 640 mins Oliver 615 mins White 479 mins JO 324 mins Wolfe 181 mins
The names may change but I expect the numbers to stay the same....no way 10 guys play significant mins every game.. now if Wright and Poole play 30+ minutes again I dont see much time for number 9 or 10 with a big as the 8th guy getting mins depending on foul trouble or matchups. going to be a fun year

I do and I also know that a Patsos team will defend first and score from pressure D steals and traps....we will also control the boards...White can find some time because of this mentality. Our shooting percentages will go up and that will increase scoring. The more you can do the more you will play. And if you dont play D you wont play much no matter how many 3's you can make

I'd run and press a lot and just wear the opponents down for 40 minutes and we'll win a lot of games in the last 5 minutes. That worked very well for Paul Hewitt and for Manhattan last year. Fran's teams were different we had decent depth but his starters (and top 6 when Kenny was a senior) were so talented you had to ride them as much as possible. We don't have as good a starting 5 as the Siena teams from 2007-2010 did (at least to this point) but we might have a better 11 or 12 players in quality depth. Wright might be the only guy who plays over 30 minutes for sure.
If Paige and Brandwijk are impact guys as freshmen...someone's minutes are going to be down. Imoh's minutes will go way down...and depending on if Cole can handle being the back-up PG - Hymes minutes could be diminished severely too. We have 14 guys capable of being in the rotation - barring injuries 3 or 4 guys aren't going to see many minutes. But it's a good problem to have.
We have talent, depth and experience (and home court in March) all things needed to win the MAAC championship - both the regular season and the tournament.
