I think Wolfe is going to surprise a lot of people next season and beyond. He's probably the most athletically gifted big man on the team - he simply needs to get stronger by adding a good 30 lbs. of muscle to his frame. I disagree with those stating that Wolfe is really a 3. He's 6'9 and not quick enough nor a good enough shooter to be a wing. He's definitely a face up 4/5. I remind you all that Rossiter didn't look like much when he showed up either. But when he starting adding muscle so he could finish inside, his game blew up. Revisit the game at Canisius to get a glimpse of the future for Wolfe.

Right now, I actually give Brandwijk the edge on defense from what I've seen. Believe it or not, Wolfe actually had a positive assist ratio this year and technically had the 2nd highest FT% on the team. Assist ratio = 8/6 FT% = 79.3% (23 of 29) Wolfe will continue to be our wild card. With his offensive abilities, he could just take a starting position if he put in the work and got better on defense. Wolfe is averaging just 3.6 boards per 30 minutes and just 22 blocks per 1,000. That is why he doesn't play.

One big thing though. Silas blocks shots and rebounds at an elite level. Bisping and Long block some but also draw a lot of charges. Bisping might have led the nation.
Anyone below them has to provide a better defensive combo to stand a chance. JO, Wolfe and Brandwijk need a niche role to get time or to start to light it up on defense end to take minutes from them.
And if we're going to give up Silas' shotblocking, the other facets we gain better be pretty good. His block rate is at about 100 per 1,000 minutes.
Maybe JO, Wolfe and Brandwijk will turn it over less and score more. I think whomever we use as our first 2 bigs off the bench will say a lot towards our defensive and offensive identities this year.

I disagree with the statement that he's not a good shooter. He can hit the mid range jumper & the 3. We all know he can dunk with ease. He's also a very good FT shooter. How's that being not a good shooter? I'm not suggesting he's a 3 but he is a good shooter.

Tony, could you move the Wolfe comments off the Audu thread and maybe create a Wolfe thread. Looks like I'm hijacking Audu's thread (but not on purpose).
