Saints last team still playing in the MAAC- who would have thought that a month ago. I wasn’t a big fan of the CBI- or going to tournament after a losing season. But after thinking it through, it’s been a great opportunity. Gives our young players a taste of the post season. We got to beat a good AE team in stony brook, and hopefully put the AE teams in our rear view mirror- Mitch lost to AE teams like it was his job ( of course Mitch lost to everybody) and we get to host a B1G team on our home floor in front of a national audience. The CBI is probably the weakest post season tournament – but win or lose Monday, I think it was the right decision to go to CBI- I think the extra games and experience will pay off down the road

Definitely agree the CBI was the right call and I was skeptical when the rumor mill was getting started. My hope now is that our involvement and success serves as a validation the program to the A-10. Because I think the game of conference musical chairs will be starting up again soon and Siena may just end up with a seat.

As Siena fans, we've missed these C tournaments because we went to the Big Dance for three years and then sucked for three years while they got started. But these tournaments are more like the old NIT, before the NCAA bought it. I hope Siena continues to play tournaments when invited. And honestly, I like the idea of playing bigger name opponents on a bigger TV platform in the CBI. I'm not opposed to the CIT either, but I hope Siena goes with the CBI whenever given a choice. I think it's the better of the two C tournaments.

What is with the CIT? They reseed the teams after every round. In a bracket crazy March Madness mood, that is not a popular move! As for Siena being in the CBI, great move for the young Saints. I already have my tickets for Monday and can't wait. Go Saints!

Of course I wouldn't mind Siena making the NCAA or NIT, but I like the "C" tournaments because they remind me of the old NIT before the NCAA took over running it.

From a Siena fan perspective, I prefer the reseeding format ( like the old NIT ) because they reward teams who can draw higher attendance home games. This way the Siena's are able to get home games against BCS caliber teams. Besides other than the NCAA pools, I don 'to hear people completing NIT sheets. They may very we'll be doing that but no where near the hype of the NCAA office pools, so why care about the. "C" tourneys reseeding? Do you personally bet on the C's?

I'm glad some people are finally coming around to these tournaments. It's a no brainer for a program like Siena, as long as it doesn't lose too much money.

I don't mind playing in it this year, but I hope we don't play in it again for a long time.

These tournaments are good for young teams on the brink of doing something special, and I think Siena is almost there.
For example, Iona went to the CIT a few years ago and almost won the whole thing. The next year, they were in the NCAAs.
If we had a bunch of seniors, I wouldn't like it as much. But as stated earlier, we are young and we need experience. This is invaluable experience for the Saints for the 2014-2015 season.

Saints the last D1 men's basketball team in NYS still playing post season ball. Who would have believed that at the beginning of the season?

Not bitter at all. You can't win a college basketball game when you don't make a three point shot.
