I hope Evan gets this award- kid has come a long way this year. Evans turnovers are way down this year, and while Evan will never be a defensive star- Jimmy got his message through and Evan really put some "effort" into defense and even grabbing a few boards a game, in 12 less min a game Evan is grabbing more rebounds this year than any time in his career Good Luck to Evan Hymes no offense to Mo Barrow -- but FF stinks ..Evan should win this award www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Like-it-or-not-Hymes-fits-role-5289279.php

Evan should win this award hands down. As sixth man, his leadership and play assisted a very, very young Siena, preseason picked 10th, to finish in 5th place and capture a first round bye in the MAAC Tournament. On the other hand, Barrow assisted the Stags, preason picked 6th, to finish in a solid 10th giving their fans an early shot at avoiding weekend traffic on 91! How is this even a contest?

if it comes down to two players ... one whos team finished 10th (after being picked 6th) and the other whos team finished 5th (after being picked 10th). And as much as Im not a fan of his game... he has provided needed offense this year and been a part of that improvement to 5th place. Im also a fan of the returning players getting all the rewards etc they can given who they dealt with the last two years as a coach.

Agree Hymes should get it over Barrow, but I believe it was nycbuckets who had an article and he said Iona's Laury might win this award since Iona went on their winning streak when Laury became their 6th man. Laury did start quite a few games early in year OOC. will be interesting to see how the coaches view this situation

I read somewhere you could not have started in more than 10 games to be eligible and Laury started in 15 games. Hopefully Hymes gets it

He'll have a hard time beating out Barrow for this award. Hope he pulls it off, but I doubt it.
Sienas 5th place finish should have nothing to do with this award. It's an individual award, not a team one.

I had the pleasure of sitting at the same Table as Even at the awards banquet. Although he did not win an award himself he cheered, yelled and applauded with energy and smiles as his team mates received their awards. He was truly glad for them and this is the type of "team approach" that has made him so successful as 6th man, in addition to his skills of course. It was fun to be at his table and see his reactions. Only downside, he kept calling me "sir"......... He is a real gentleman.

Barrow averages 29.3 mins a game. There's only three players on that team that average over 23.5 mins. He's a starter whether he's in for the tip off or not.
