We lost to the second place team by 12. Not bad for a team rebuilding. We're not far from being competitive in that conference maybe a player or 2 away..... Those games were also early in the year ....

Siena is a player or 2 away from being at the top of the MAAC. The MAAC <> The A-10. Siena is 3 or 4 very good players away from being competitive in the A-10, and Wright and Long are probably the only two players that would be solid contributors on an A-10 squad.

I said competitive as in being in ball games and not getting blown out not winning the A10.

Still say that Siena with one or two players would be at the bottom tier of the A-10.

This team would obviously struggle in the A10. I certainly would not want to go in for a couple of years. But if we were invited but didn't join for a couple of years then Jimmy would have an opportunity to recruit with the A10 card in his pocket. How much easier would it be to sign top talent this fall (3 'ships depending on Imoh getting an extra year will be open) if Siena was announced to the A10 in the next few weeks? But we are in a good spot either way like Tony said... Jimmy either will have the A10 announcement to use or if we don't get invited now he can tell recruits the first two years of their Siena careers the MAAC tournament will be on Siena's home court. Either way I expect us to sign an outstanding class in the fall. Those players will be freshmen when Long, Wright and company will be juniors.

You are missing the point all I'm saying is that we can play with A10 teams after adding a couple of A10 type recruits I'm not saying where we would finish ... GM won 3 games in the A10 but were in almost every game .... They were competitive .....

It is amazing to me that so many people are satisfied with a league that bases it's representative on one tournament, then does every thing in its power to give each team an equal chance to win regardless of stature.

Right. Cause you know everything about what would happen if Siena switched leagues? Being satisfied with the MAAC and saying that success in the MAAC and A-10 in the future just based upon past results is not guaranteed. Year 1 of Jimmy Patsos exceeded expecations but that doesn't guarantee success in the A-10. Are you saying that the MAAC tournament should be played at each team's home gym until a neutral site championship, because otherwise its been a pretty unfair advantage to Siena more than it has to other schools. I dont think Siena fans should get mad that they decided to move the tournament away, they should be mad at the locations of where it was moved to.

I guess some people will always be satisfied with the status quo, even if it means that less deserving programs pass us by. I want something more-- we earned it.

I dont think Siena fans should get mad that they decided to move the tournament away, they should be mad at the locations of where it was moved to. There are any number of ways that the league could protect its one bid champion--- double byes, home sites, denial of lower tier entry--- etc. instead all teams are entered and the lower tier teams even get a day off on a neutral site --- ridiculous. You say it is an unfair advantage--- why because we happen to have the best fans that actually support the program? Fans that pour thousands of dollars into league coffers that help subsidize the rest of the teams? To be clear I don't need the maac to hold it at Siena every year but the current format is uninspired. And yes the current location is a boneheaded move that we all knew would fail miserably.

Success in the MAAC- last 3 years showed that isnt true.Nothing in life is guaranteed so your argument holds no water. Some of you people amaze me- what would it take to be successful in the A10-- facilities, budget, fan base media coverage? What makes a good program- what is the ceiling of this program? Is Siena better off in communist MAAC ? IF so why--instead of taking pot shots SS3 explain why it would be a bad move other than your statement Siena couldn't compete- something I disagree with by the way - what does Siena lack that LaSalle- St Joe's George Mason, Davidson Richmond etc have

The MAAC & and beefed up OOC games at TUC is very palatable for the next couple of years ... And if there becomes a need to remove a few more tarps the A10 will be knocking on our door Why can't we get Syracuse in here for a 2 for 1? If I'm Siena I'd even consider a 3 for 1 but Siena understandingly probably wants no part in a 3-1 series. SU came here Lanier's last year when we stunk and they were a couple of years removed from winning the national championship. It probably was for Craig Forth. The building would sell out and SU alums in Albany could see the Cuse at the TUC instead of having to travel out to Syracuse. Cmon, Boeheim grow some onions - what are you afraid of? Maybe Papi can arange it. I think if Siena is in the A10 Cuse might be more receptive to it possibly. I also remember Patsos saying Ed Cooley and Providence (maybe Boston College too?) might do a home and home down the road with Siena. How come we haven't had a home and home scheduled with Iowa and Fran Mac? I would love to see us fly out there and play Iowa and someone like DePaul over a 3 day period.
