Very brief talk by Patsos basically congratulating Cruz and saying the team plays hard and he and they are glad to be at Siena where the fanbase supports the program so well. Poole, MVP, Oliver most improved player, Bisping rebounder award and I think it was the hustle award won by Wright . Other than that not much said. The players I sat with, who will remain nameless, confirmed Patsos is as intense/crazy in practice as he is during games, but they communicated it very diplomatically.

I wasn't there, but saw on Twitter that Wright won the "Defensive" award and Long won the "Hustle" award.
If Patsos is as intense in practice as he is in-game, does that make it more authentic to those who feel that it's a "shtick" that he acts like that during games? Just wondering.

You are correct on Wright and Long, my mistake.

He loves this job sooo much & is grateful for the opportunity to coach here that he got choked up towards the end. One more important award, Cruz won the academic award. Jimmy knelt down & was almost as tall as Cruz.

One more thing, they announced that Yankee Trails is running a bus to Springfield and if interested to call Yankee Trails directly.

Defensive award: Wright Hustle award: Long Rebounding award: Bisping Most improved: Oliver Academic award: Cruz MVP: Poole you really cant complain about any of those awards. In particular I like Wright and Long getting their respective awards. I posted on the MAAC board about Wrights defense and they implied it wasn't so. That kid has so many deflections etc its unreal and a LOT of those wind up being steals credited to other players. Long flat out hustles... his work all over the floor has won a number of games for siena EVEN IF it isn't shown in the scoring column. Bisping ... I would argue if arguing about anything... as the most improved. But Oliver is deserving as well. All around a very fun year for Siena basketball even if we Siena fans haven't agreed on everything

How was attendance compared to last year? Appeared to be down. The room was full. I saw 200 listed as the total for the banquet.
