With the All MAAC teams being announced today on the MAAC site, interesting distribution of players:
Iona - two first teamers, one second team (1st- Beamon- Sr...........1st English - Soph...............2nd Laury - Jr) Manhattan - a player on first, second, and third team (1st Beamon- Sr............2nd Brown - Sr...............3rd Alvarado- Sr) Quinny - a first team selection, plus a second and third (1st Azotam-Sr...............2nd Drame-Jr...............3rd Hearst-Jr) Canisius - just Baron-Sr (first team of course) Siena - Rob Poole-Jr makes third team Marist - just a second teamer - Lewis-Jr St. Peters- just a third teamer - Dominique-Jr Rider - a second and third team player (Stewart - Sr.............. Myles-Sr) Monmouth and Fairfield - no one Niagara - Mason-Jr on second team
So, congratulations to Rob Poole and to Marquis and Lavon, both selected to the All Rookie Team !!

I see the disrespect for Siena continues in the MAAC! Poole should be 2nd team! And what..nothing for Bisping?! Total B.S!
That being said..congratulations to Poole, Wright and Long!

The surprising 5th place finish (for some) mandated placement of at least one of our players on an all MAAC team, IMHO. Robbie should have been 2nd team, Brett got screwed.

Congrats to 'Quis, Lavon and Rob - all well earned!!
Looking ahead of the preseason all-MAAC teams next October ... Poole should at least be on the 2nd team, Wright/Long on the 3rd team and Bisping will also be in contention. Don't know if Cole will be on a preseason team since he hasn't played in the MAAC before but transfers have been named before I believe.

Congrats to the Saints honored.
FWIW, Alvarado is a Sr. not a Jr. as listed above. All Manhattan players honored are Sr's this year.
Bisping was on the cusp of being honored this year, but there were a number of guys who had similar numbers to him that didn't get on a team, either - Barrow, Deon Jones, Gilbert, Manhertz, Desi Washington...

Congrats to Poole, Wright, and Long! Bisping had a great year, whether he received recognition or not.
I was surprised Mason didn't make the 1st team, averaging 25 points/game. I guess it was because the team had such a bad record?

Question: How does Rider (#6 team) get a 2nd and 3rd teamer and Siena (#5) gets only a 3rd teamer? Answer: Myles and Stewart are seniors whereas Poole and Bisping are not. The MAAC tends to favor seniors. The shocker in my opinion is Iona's AJ English, 1st team selection as a sophomore. English gets a lot of wide open looks, which will disappear without Armand and Bowman drawing the attention of MAAC defenses. English's selection is probably more of a "no vote" for Mason than anything else. BTW, the MAAC press release has numerous errors (stats and player info).

Congrats to Rob Poole- Quis and Lavon-- all well deserved. I guess you can make a case for Rob for 2nd team- but its pretty hard to replace anyone on 2nd team- Brett had a great year but be serious- Bisping wouldn't have made the team if they had 4 all MAAC teams-- I mean really people if you want to say so and so should have made a team tell me who you would replace ..I mean C'mon why should Bisping make it in front on 3rd team all MAACers Marvin Dominique, Saint Peter’s 14ppg 8 rpg, Z Hearst of Quinny 16ppg and 7 boards,Anthony Myles, Rider 16.2 PPG,Michael Alvarado of Manhattan 12.4 ppg 3 boards and 4.2 assisits per game-- how about replacing him with Poole? How about the other 7 to 10 players with better stats than Brett that didn't make any all maac team ? Tre Bowman of Iona ? Kemp of Marist? Perez and Manhertz from Canisius,( griffs finished higher than us and got 1 guy on ALL MAAC teams. Barrow from FF? Bowie of Marist Issiah Williams of Iona , Jordan Heath of Canisius ,Umar Shannon of Quinny, -- I could go on and on-- we all want Siena players to do well, but lets be serious here. And I dont want to hear the 5th place argument when players with better stats from Iona- Quinny Canisius all didn't make an all MAAC team

Bisping has made a big jump and exceeded most of our expectations, but his numbers don't merit inclusion on these teams. With that said, I wouldn't trade him for most of those other guys you mention who also didn't make all MAAC teams. He is a perfect complementary player to our developing and (hopefully) incoming stars.

Agreed- Brett came a long way- but it makes Siena fans look silly to claim Brett or Siena was hosed on ALL MAAC teams. A lot of talent in the MAAC this year- I might quibble on a selection here or there-( 2nd team vs 3rd team etc) but for most part not only cant I complain- not sure how anyone can really complain about a single selection on ALL MAAC teams- thought the MAAC coaches did a great job

These are individual awards, not team awards people. That's why Rider had 2 all stars on a 6th place team and Siena had just one. I'd love to hear the rationale for who should get bumped for Bisping, who barely averaged all of 10 ppg. Siena got it done as a team, but in individual performance Poole was the only star. In the future we'll see a few current players on there, but not this season. It's clear the talent has been upgraded, but it has to be given time to mature. Mitch did a number on us, and Jimmy can only shine a turd so much. Gotta wait our turn.

There are four all-MAAC teams: first, second, third, and rookie. We placed three players altogether.
