He didn't see double and triple teams. That part you are missing You really need to go see a class D game I've watched sectionals (prior years )before when CBA and Shen followed D games and it's a totally different ball game. It's like watching middle school v. high school. We will see what what he can do w/ the Rocks on a national level. That'll tell the story ..... The point is if you don't have a perimeter game and you get doubled and tripled youre going to have it tough. Those C and D teams ugly shit up. That isn't Holt or hood etc game they are at their best running against other running teams/players. I'm not saying wincowski is better or worse but we have guys out here bad mouthing him like Tony.and then claiming he isn't bad mouthing him. Kid isn't "lacing them up" for st rose and I'm betting he winds up maac or higher. More and more coaches going to see him. Sucks the second best kid on the team got injured or they were easily moving on to the next round...but then more people see him so I'm kind of glad the seasons over for him. Get to the city rocks and continue to develop your game

I've also seen athletic kids with no perimeter game play poorly in ugly games. It's a lot harder to score 30 a game being doubled and tripled than you think. Wincowski is incredibly comfortable with the ball. THAT is a part of his game I want to see if it translates at the next level. Composed and very comfortable.

Cremo isn't he a UA players ?? I do know if he played in Wincowski conference he would have averaged 40ppg.. hell he avg 27ppg playing a conference about 2000 times tougher He didn't see double and triple teams. That part you are missing It depends WHO'S doing the double teaming. Two midgets from Bolton that would rather be ice fishing are who he has to beat to score, not Holt and Radz from Troy HS.

This is true...that defense was horrible on both sides and Wincowski was turning it over like crazy...he also could not find the open man or penetrate that weak zone...he threw up NBA 3's instead even though he was not making any.. he also missed 4 straight FTs late that prob cost his team the game...

Just watched the whole LG game from the link provided. JW was 1-5 from the FT line in the 4th quarter with two airballs from the 3-pt line, and a couple of turnovers.
We need better.....
ps--no double teams on the offensive side of the floor at all. They did try to force him to give the ball up in the backcourt with the inbounders guy hedging him.

Joel has a looooong way to go, the distance from Class D in Adirondacks to D1 ball is incredibly large. After watching that game I’m not convinced Joel is a D1 player—keep in mind this was only 2nd decent class C team he saw all year..( most of Joels games were against class D teams) and key word was class D – he might have been incredibly poised with ball Vs a 5’9” slow kid that would rather be bailing hay – nothing impressive in that game at all- in fact it screamed D2-- for a supposed shooter he didn’t shoot that well, looks like a volume shooter to me- Dad just lets him shoot whatever he wants.. and what about the double and triple teams? Spa Cathlic played him straight up—he gets 20 points with a boat load of shots, doesn’t pass and turns the ball over, and is not a particularly good foul shooter- other than that a good game, Joel is only a junior so a year of playing with rocks will probably help him( if he can make the black team) after what I saw he might only play on orange team ( 2nd best rock team)

The two guys at the top pinched together in that zone essentially doubling him to try to force the ball out of his hands. When he dribbled into either side of the court they almost had three guys on him. The whole D was designed to try to get the ball out of his hands. At times inbounding the ball they pressed attempting to double him on the inbound and then trap him to get the ball out of his hands. But you keep telling yourself what you need to. Kid is going D1 despite your disgust of that Adirondack League
