we all know there is a speed and talent difference. The real question is ... how will his game translate and how will he adjust to be effective. Rather than expecting him to be a dud at the next level... I want to see how his game translates as he plays throughout the playoffs (without their second leading scorer) and as he moves on to the City Rocks. Now this is a reasonable option. Why definitively assume the worst case scenario. Let him move up in competition and see what happens. Will he still average 30 and 8 steals, probably not, but if he did half as well he may still be the real deal or a valuable player at the D I level.

Q: What do you guys think Jamil Hood Jr.'s numbers would be if he played for Lake George, and Wincowski played at Green Tech? Let that one soak in!

I dont expect him to be a dud ... here are the facts plenty of kids at d2 and D3 level can really play ball-- I was at a RPI D3 game last year and between two teams they shot something like 47 for 50 from foul line... anyway point is the speed and athleticism gap between college divisions is quite large. I'm not convinced Joel is even a D1 player he might be the next Girard kid for all I know. I am willing to check him out-- until then stats against class D kids playing for his father dont mean squat to me

No, he's a D-1 kid, and he will play at that level. BUT can you imagine the numbers Hood would put up against teams like Bolton and Salem?? It's a scary thought, and puts the stats he gets in real perspective. People easily fall in love with long range shooters (I'm guilty myself!), so much so a veteran sports reporter, that has a handle out here, called JW a "star" after he shot 13-37 in a Class "D" game??

Let that one soak in! t I would expect Hood's numbers to be as good or better, but until we see Wincowski against top level AA competition it is all conjecture. There may be educated guesses, but they are still guesses. Can't we wait and see.

I've seen those class D teams up north and I think I can score 20 on them..LOL he might be a D1 player-- but not impressed by level of competition or numbers he is putting up - he played one decent team-- a class C team and they shut him down to 19 points... Kid probably wouldnt score 10 points vs troy or CBA.. I do hope he makes it to next week and I'll check him out...but I'm not ready to anoint him anything -- he is your boy HJ

I just see Mike Beers in the videos, but wouldn't stand by anything until I see him in person. It's doesn't matter how good he is, unless we face him, if we sign Taplin or the kid from Canada. No guards needed for the class of '15.

Many of the good kids referenced in class A and AA don't have perimeter game that wincowski has and thus not sure if they could match his shooting output being double and triple teamed or box and one'd. Most of them aren't setting those defenses and certainly not every night out.
Take a kid like Cremo... 6'2"-6'3" forward? How is that game going to translate in D1?

I do know if he played in Wincowski conference he would have averaged 40ppg.. hell he avg 27ppg playing a conference about 2000 times tougher

without having seen him live, I will only go by what other coaches have shared with me at this point, likely to get more info as we roll out the aau season............obviously going to fully reserve judgment until he passes the eye test, and likely his team will have opportunities to advance far in the states..........anyway, at this point most with a solid degree of credibility say he is as good a shooter as Scott Knapp was, with deep range...........saying just that, I think we can agree that he would have a spot on a D1 roster for shooting ability alone..........it all depends on what happens with other recruits and what JP feels his needs are for the program!!!!!!!!!!!!

That part you are missing You really need to go see a class D game I've watched sectionals (prior years )before when CBA and Shen followed D games and it's a totally different ball game. It's like watching middle school v. high school. We will see what what he can do w/ the Rocks on a national level. That'll tell the story .....
