It's great to be so optimistic. Two local kids have already committed to U A which normally doesn't ever have a player from the great State of New York. The kid will eventually got to the school which he feels is best for him. Maybe Jimmer will lure him to BYU. I dont think hes Mormon. its not so much optimism as it is we have seen this happen a number of times. Simply want Patsos there if Wincowski is capable of playing on the big stage. I'm pretty sure ther's no religion requirement to play basketball there. Wasn't there a non Mormon who played there a year or two ago who got suspended during the NCAA tournament for violating school/team rules (something to do with his girlfriend)? He wasn't Mormon I believe.

I find it ironic that many people here were bashing Jmy & this kid thinking he wasn't good enough (or only played against Class C competition ). Now he's being looked at by BCS schools. Funny how things change when we find out new info.
I always believed in Jimmy's recruiting ability & if he thought Win was good enought to offer a ship, I was OK with it too. Just like I am with Cam & Page.

Joel went for 38 in the class C quarterfinals win You know he shot 13-37 in this game right? Which is horrible for a D-1 player on the Class "D" HS level. He plays against no one. Is he a low D-1 player? Sure, because he supposedly can shoot the ball well. IF we get Taplin, or the other guard from Canada this year, he'll be out. Our one scholarship in '15 will be used for a legit big to replace Silas. I haven't seen the kid play yet in person so I can't go much past that he's obviously a scholarship player, but please don't put much stock in things like, "Purdue called about him." (Taplin had the gall to say "Kentucky called my father." For what, directions to Niagara Falls?) And to be clear, it isn't the kids fault he plays at the lowest level, but it would be better for his game/recruitment if he played his senior year at a CBA or Albany Academy. That's if staying local is really important to him. If he wants to go as high as poossible, getting to one of the basketball factory prep schools in New England is definitely the way to go. I wish the kid luck, and hope to see him play soon. Hopefully his team continues on in the sectionals.

I just want our coach there should he be capable. He is making the move to the City Rocks which should begin to define his true level. This still has many elements of the "one that got away". Hopefully Patsos stays close. shooters at all levels have had bad nights once in a while. He is seeing double and triple teams the entire year

Junkie
We have 3 juniors (Hymes, Silas, and Poole). Assuming Hymes bolts this year, we still have 2 ships for 15. I suspect we do target a big kid like Sam Miller and probably a scorer 6-1 to 6-4

I suspect we do target a big kid like Sam Miller and probably a scorer 6-1 to 6-4 How do we pay Gottfried in '15? He gets one of those 2 scholarships. All this is based on the assumption we sign Brandwijk AND one of the guards we're currently recruiting for the Class of '14. As for JW, anytime he has an off night its because he's double-teamed. No excuse on that level, and if he stays local, we'll get him. Only way he goes higher than us, is if he goes to prep school. If we lose him, it won't be because JP didn't try. But you do realize we sign a guard this year, no way we continue recruiting him, unless JP knows someone else is out/leaving because that last scholly in '15 has to be for a legit center.

I was hoping the Gotfrieds would just pay up but your right we should assume he gets the ship. I still think we'll have two ships in 15. Given transfer rates and the number of kids bunched up in two classes, there is a statistical probablity someone leaves.

Wten recently did interview with him - maybe someone can find it? The kid talked about the car accident he had a few years ago..and how mature he is now. I was personally very impressed with him. A perfect fit for Siena!

Yeah, with a game only 32 minutes long, 37 shots taken is crazy, and thats why it needs to be put in perspective what he's doing, and who he's doing it against.
