First game I've been able to watch in awhile, thought I'd share some random observations...
- This team is simply not that talented. Best, and most complete player is Wright, who has plenty of room to improve (FT Shooting, outside shot in general). Let's face in, PW left the cupboard pretty bare. Not saying Jimmy is perfect, but not even Coach K would be able to guide this roster to much better than a .500 record. I'm not sure what fellow Saints fans were expecting this year, but some of the criticism I've been reading on here just doesn't seem warranted.
- The issue with the fouling seems like a combination of the new rules, Frosh playing a high # of minutes, style of play, and overall lack of talent. Frustrating for sure, but I firmly believe that in time, this issue will get resolved. Hopefully as soon as the beginning of next season.
- I believe Jimmy is doing a great job this season laying the groundwork for future success. There are some pieces in place...but to win like we all want, more pieces are needed. PW did an astonishingly fantastic job of burning the program to the ground. Just try to remember that when watching this team.
- If there are any departures from the team, I hope they don't include any of the freshmen. Specifically talking about JO. From the few times I've seen him play, I am impressed. I think there is a lot of potential there. If he works hard, I see no reason why he can't be a key piece of future success.
- Definitely need a backup PG.
- Can't wait to see Cole play next year
- Excited to see how much the freshmen can improve this offseason.
- Very intrigued by Wolfe...think he could be a great player the next 3 years. Kind of wish he'd get more PT this season.
- Despite some recent heartbreaking losses, I am thoroughly enjoying this team for the first time in 4 years. You are blind if you can't see that Jimmy has us going in the right direction. I still love my Zaints!!!

Good post.. MikeC doesn't post much but as usual he is right on the mark. Jimmy's made mistakes but he without a doubt has us going in the right direction. This year was always about rebuilding and putting the foundation down for the next 3-4 years. Doesn't mean that this game doesn't hurt like hell though.
ESPN just led sportscenter with our loss...ugghhhh

Jimmy is great as a high energy guy who gets the kids excited to play. However, Jimmy is a poor coach at cruch time. He lost the Quinnipiac game and this game, and if you look at his career I,m sure there are othr games as well. I think Loyala was way up on Siena in the 2008 quarter final or semi-final game and Jimmy blew that one also.
Anyone looking at ESPN will certainly have the same opinion.

My observations:
- It never should have come down to a desperation shot for Marist. Hell we were up by 10- and it should have stayed around there. But this is what happens when you don't put teams away.
- The lineup of Wright, Poole, Oliver, Long, and Bisping seemed to work best.
- White and Hymes seemed to throw a monkey ranch into the offense. The flow of the game never seemed to work with them on the court!
- I tend to believe there is talent on this team. However, Siena needs decent backup PG and Cole.
- Mistakes were made..the kids/coaches will learn and move on from this! Fran's team's had to go though the same process!

He's a d1 player and he air balled a shot from the foul line coming up short by 3 feet. I'm sorry but once I saw that he should never get a minute again. Ryan Oliver provides more to the team at time.

One bad shot and never play again? I guess Poole shouldn't play either as his fall away three pointer air ball looked even worse on my computer. We could have used whites ability to get to the rim yesterday --- i think he is the most underutilized player on the team.

didn't see the game, but only listened on radio, think the game was lost within the last media TO, 2 uncontested dunks by lewis, one by kemp, no interior D. need an impact BIG to compliment the the big role players.

I just watched the game again online, actually the last 5 minutes. I don't understand the lazy pass by Bisping. I feel bad for Wright and long, both had good games. Lavon hitting critical FT. Both these kids are clutch. I remain optimistic.

Big part of our problem-- some the "experts" on this board watch one side of the ball-- we get abused inside on defense -- and it just wasn't last night its been all year. Hopefully Jimmy can land a talented "big" and we really need JO and Wolfe to make "sophomore" jump. We need said player to get into a Duell type role..10-12 min a game
