For those who might be inclined to analyze, I have attached an excel spreadsheet through the first 25 games (NJCU included) that captures the referees for each game, number of Siena vs. Opponents Fouls, Technicals and fouled out players. Digest and discuss.... SienaBBALL 2013_14.xlsx (13.1 KB) addendum: I am not very good at attaching so if any of you can't open this, PM me with an email and I will happily send you the excel file.

Let me break it down further-= Siena opponents have gone to line 712 times making 478, Siena has attempted 567 making 398—basically Siena is down 80 points for season at foul line- which means Siena starts each game approximately 4 points in the hole ..add to that Siena forces few turnovers ( team speed for Siena is not good) 14.7 turnovers a game to opponents 12.4 – so once again Siena starts each game not only 4 points in hole from foul line, but down two possessions—those numbers are not winning team numbers- I won’t get into fact we give up more points than we score- for most part we are not a good defensive team- we have several players that quite frankly are not good defensive players

Tony, in the comment column is it the players that fouled out?

Good stuff, greenblood! Doug Aprahamian ( statsheet.com/mcb/referees/doug-aprahamian) is the guy who botched up the Quinnipiac game, calling all the ticky-tacky fouls against both teams, and blowing the whistle when he wasn't even the closest ref. Gary Tracy ( statsheet.com/mcb/referees/gary-tracy) showed up at 6:51pm for the 7pm game and ejected Coach Patsos in the second half. Neither of these guys have worked a game above the MAAC level all season. Siena does obviously need to work on its fouls. Even the better qualified refs, who don't let the games get away from them, are blowing the whistle a lot.

In the Quinny game, I think 6 Siena players fouled out (as opposed to 4).

Yep think you're correct. I will have to fix that. Thanks IS.

Yep think you're correct. I will have to fix that. Thanks IS. I figure if we broke a record (even a negative record) we might as well celebrate it. I remember when Siena & LaSalle set the MAAC tournament record for combined points in a game. We scored 90 or 90 something to LaSalle's 100 or 100+. This is from a Minn Vikings fan who can only celebrate being in the Super Bowl 4 times (0-4). Loved having the Bills & Broncos as the only other 0-4 teams until Denver beat the Packers (or some other team). It's lonely in the 0-4 club.

Great spreadsheet! I could have used this when looking up all the technicals given to patsos. I wonder what the record for that is.

We are 23 games into the season, the rules are no longer new. Team, especially the nations leading fouler, need to adjust. Rules change in life all the time, those who are successful are the ones who learn to adjust.

agreed the stories are old--most teams have adjusted -- Jimmy and Siena has not
