Going to overtime with the foul situation was the kiss of death. If we kept scoring basket for basket with Q we win. If we have 4 possessions where we score 2's and they hit 3,s we win. To take the air out of the ball or allow this to go to overtime was a terrible strategy. Everyone around me said the same thing slow down, oh no!
If we, just mere fans of the game, could see the outcome the staff sure as heck should of. This isn't the first time this scenario has played out, always with the same result, the other team makes a run.
Remember Perdue?
Had we kept scoring I doubt there would have been stupid fouls by the guys and we pull it off.
Just my .02.

After Hymes missed a shot when we were up 83-77 with 1:49 White was called for a foul under the Siena basket. Two FTs for Quinnipiac with the clock stopped. Then after Wright's TO (his only of the game) Ike scores and we foul him (makes the foul shot). After Bisping scores with one second on the shot clock - Umar Shannon rebounds his own miss puts in it and gets fouled to tie the game which it never should have been. The And ones killed us...we need to be more disciplined in that situation LET THEM LAY IT IN FOR TWO!

Just my .02. up 6 with 2:11 left in the game, letting the air out of the ball is a sound strategy if executed properly (as in "Don't foul and stop the clock!). We committed three fouls down the stretch that killed us.

Alas....this is what I said. Read very closely. Perhaps while you are not taking a BM, BM....haha Yes. Both Luke and Greg are terrific X and O coaches. Problem is Jimmy won't listen to them and often just points a finger in their face, spews spit and tells them to shut the EFF up. If you start watching the bench during games you will see that he almost NEVER takes advice from ANYONE. in my opinion, that is not a sign of a good leader in any situation. also, the I take the blame we weren't prepared line is definitely a dig at people who criticized his post game comments when he said this one is not on me....it was the players fault...my paycheck is in the hands of a bunch of 18-year-olds. not cool. Especially if you know that he hates pregame strategy and prep. Hates it, no matter how prepared the assistant scouter is..... For a chance to become a head coach someday? Sure some would sell their soul. I like Greg. He could have done better than put up with jimmy shit. At least by now. JP is a clown who looks in the mirror and sees Galileo. Just my humble opinion.

If you have ever seen these guys out, they appear to be a pretty tight coaching crew. I have a friend that works there and says he is very nice and even generous. In fact, I hear thetboth Mitch and Jimmy were/are much mrore liked than Fran who was very arrogant

He was all consumed with having his team be the best they could be and he never stopped working to that end. Sometimes people who are consumed and thinking about other things can appear distant. Mitch, coaching aside, was a very nice down to earth guy and liked by many. However, he was a different person on the court as head coach and he became very unlikable IMO. Jimmy is a showman, naturally liked by many due to his energy level and people skills. He was a bartender for years so he developed a lot of people skills while making people happy and .....

Come on, BSG.........Fran is many things (as are we all!), but he is not "arrogant". Demanding? Yup. Self-confident? Yup. Impatient at times? Yup. Self-absorbed at times? Yup. Show me a successful D-I basketball coach who isn't. You say that you have a friend who works "there". I assume that you mean Siena. And if your friend thinks Fran is "arrogant", that's fine. One person's opinion. And for sure, we all have opinions about people we know, work with, casual acquaintances, etc., and not everybody is going to think that everybody else is just a terrific person. We all have heard that Jimmy's former players think the guy is great, and that the current Siena players do, too. I'm sure that statement doesn't apply to every single player, but as a broad statement, I believe that it is true. Same can be said for Fran. I would be shocked if 90% of the guys who played for Fran at Siena, and who have played for him at Iowa (or Greensboro, Notre Dame and Lehigh) don't think he's a really good guy (and also "very nice and even generous", as your friend thinks Jimmy is). Mitch...............MP says it very well..............a different person on the court than off. And not for the better.
