If Siena gets a shot off, scores and gets the win there is not discussion. If they call time out and the same bobbled play results, the discussion today would be why didn't Patsos just let them play on, like Fran, and then we would have won. We lost, it was frustrating. Let's move on.

I addressed that in next post on Fran............ha...............and you as so wrong............the percentages without a play are really low of pulling it out...........and with our foul trouble we REALLY needed to win in regulation.........no defending that!!!!!!!!! they weren't low for Fran--LOL he seldom lost at Siena.. and when he didn't call a time out at home he was right 38 times in a row..LOL.. you are picking the wrong guy when using Fran as an example-- I duuno I just gave you 4 or 5 instances right off the top of my head... give me 4 or 5 times he was wrong off the top of your head..if I researched it I'm quite sure it worked for Fran about 80 or 90% of the time Duell scored on a prayer..................LOL......................Moore double orders just hit two big shots, keep in mind as great as he was as a PG, he was 35% shooter from floor, he got lucky twice...........................Fran was great, but he also had the angels on his side a few times.............that line up we had on the floor last night wasn't the same talent level as Fran's either, cabiche!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fran also wouldn't have had 6 guys foul out. But we can't keep wondering WWFD (you can figure it out). That's not a fair comparison. Different players and different coaches (if we haven't noticed the different sideline demeanor ) I dont disagree with this-- point was about calling a time out to end game.. no right or wrong there-- in fact I think most would agree with JP.. Understood about the situation being discussed, but the fact is we did not have key guys in when the decision not to call the time out was made. I would think that would play into the decision.

NO, absolutely NOT..........and if those posters do just that, complain on a play that didn't work, they do not know basketball...................you TRY to call a play, and if it doesn't work, you move on and try to win it in overtime........no regrets.......we were in a dis-array fire drill, at the very least when ball squirted free, grab it and call a TO from the bench immediately!!!!!!!!!!

All teh comments here are accurate, but only a few posters are critisizing Jimmy's stategic decision to milk the clock. This team does not ahve a lot of shooters, and can't run plays with 5 seconds remaining.
I know several players foulded out but the offense can't be changed like that.
Jimmy is worlds better than Mitch, but fans are also knowlegable about the game ..

Well let's catch up on this as the season progresses. Keep a good eye out. One instance does not a pattern make. On the other hand, one instance does the negation of a "never" make. Alas....this is what I said. Read very closely. Perhaps while you are not taking a BM, BM....haha Yes. Both Luke and Greg are terrific X and O coaches. Problem is Jimmy won't listen to them and often just points a finger in their face, spews spit and tells them to shut the EFF up. If you start watching the bench during games you will see that he almost NEVER takes advice from ANYONE. in my opinion, that is not a sign of a good leader in any situation. also, the I take the blame we weren't prepared line is definitely a dig at people who criticized his post game comments when he said this one is not on me....it was the players fault...my paycheck is in the hands of a bunch of 18-year-olds. not cool. Especially if you know that he hates pregame strategy and prep. Hates it, no matter how prepared the assistant scouter is..... Frustrating loss because of all the positives that were part of it. Why I'd there such a need to assign blame.

We are 0-5 against 'up' teams in the league...but that's Ok because we were picked 10th. BULL $ HIT. These kids were in positions to win 3 of thise five games, not to mention Purdue. PLEASE teach them to stay on the gas, how not to foul, and manage end of game strategies in time outs, not during the running of our offense. Really heartbraking for our kids last night. Post of the year! Just bringing myself to go on the board now after last night's loss. Just as Fran has matured in the last few years to become a better coach and compete in maybe the toughest hoop conference of them all, Jimmy has some learning to do. The strategies, particularly 2nd half adjustments, and player recruitment look strong. But the in-game management--the screaming in-your-face approach, the quick hooks, the use of timeouts--needs to improve for Siena to reach the heights of 5 years ago.

Fran would have never lost that game. It's obvious that Jimmy is no Fran. Jimmy gets compared to Mitch, who was the worst hire in Siena history. Jimmy's coaching in this game was horrible. A few more like this and the honeymoon will be over. I pray for better days ahead. You guys are killing me. I haven't been on here today until now because the loss bothered me so much I didn't feel like reading to bullshit from the same crybabies after one of our tough losses. It bothers all of us but grow up. I didn't think JP should have taken the air out of the ball last night. I thought we should keep going to the hoop and go inside making them foul. Jimmy tried to run clock, it didn't work out, I'm not happy either. But every time we have a bad loss some of you guys have to talk like idiots and over react. Grow up. This is a young team. Believe me, the coaches are trying to solve some of the problems our young team has. If you geniuses have figured it out, they probably realize it too and are working hard to do something about it with this young team. I'm done! Have a nice day tomorrow! Go Saints!

I think people are painting a picture much darker than reality really is. Yes, Jimmy has a volatile personality during games. Some of it is real but much of it is calculated and deliberate. A lot of it is overdone drama. Jimmy's an actor, he has a big personality. I think most kids do like the guy for all his strong attributes. His volatile behavior coaching during a game puts a healthy (usually) fear into the team. They play good cop, bad cop all the time. If you notice, every time Jimmy goes off on one of the kids, as soon as he walks away, either Greg, Lucious, or Luke go up to the player and give them a pep talk or a pat on the back for encouragement. They know what they're doing.
