im good either way. A little over his head at this level and he got three years of $50k plus in scholarship money. He made out pretty well. I dont think either side owes either anything.

Everything is relative to the overall (not just the individual ) success.
Loyalty is a noble goal, but in this case loyalty to teh individual may be detrimental to teh goals of teh team, school, fans, etc. Morover, teh player may be better off getting more playing time someplace else.
Fr. Kevin's and D'Arg's loyaties to Mitch and Fran , were teh principal reasons the team has sufferd for teh last 3+ years. Mitch benefited , but just about everyone else took a hit. It wasn't Mitch's fault , as many on this site want to make him the culprit.
It was shortsigted "loyaty" and nepotism that caused a serious mistake in judgement.
Mitch performed about the same as he did at FF, and for substantially the same reasons.

Why are we talking about Mitch again?! WTF
All this talk about Hymes is speculation! As of right now the kid is still playing ball for Siena. And we need to him to be focused on scoring, defense and not turning over the ball. Nothing more!

I think if Taplin cant make it my next choice might be Willem Brandwijk kid is athletic and can shoot- Silas doesn't seem to be progressing ..so I think we can always use a big that is as athletic as Brandwijk and can shoot the ball--Ideally I'd like Willem and Taplin... but that's in a "perfect" world ..I'm not interested in the huge kid Quadree Smith ..too much of a head case

It's been said on this board before if God forbid Wright got hurt next year and we didn't sign a guard Jimmy would take some serious heat which would be totally fair. I'm not advocating signing a guard any guard for the heck of it but if we don't sign Taplin I really hope the staff has a plan B quality combo guard. Brandwijk would be good if another scholarship opens after we've addressed the back-up PG situation. Next year we have a chance to win the MAAC championship but if Wright gets hurt and there is no insurance those hopes are seriously in jeopardy.

If we were able to get Quadree Smith that would be a great get. If he is what people say he is he can be a great for this offense. Big-bodied, can play down low right from the moment he gets here. They say he could average 10+ rebounds all 4 years he plays, and also he is a great outlet passer. Having him play center would be great for this supposed "4 guard" offense, where you can have a center put up a couple points, rebound a lot, and be able to start a fast break or a quick transition which can help increase the tempo and make it easier for many of these players to score.

I don't like heavy players like Smith, they get hurt a lot. Also, he has grade issues. With the weight and grades, it may be a sign of laziness.
