During the telecast ( last night ) the announcers said the Siena's T.V. contract was ending with Time Warner.
1. Is this true?
2. If so..it makes you wonder- is Siena preparing for A10 -and their more lucrative T.V. contract?

I doubt it has anything to do with A10- probably has more to do with fact this year will be 4th straight losing season

I doubt it has anything to do with A10- probably has more to do with fact this year will be 4th straight losing season I tweeted the General and he wrote back - Not totally sure but I believe this is the first year of a 3-year contract. I'm not involved with the negotiations however. The games will still be on. Siena is still the top dog in this market despite the struggles on the past few years..I think that tide is turning back to the better. I do hope like hell we're in the A10 soon...games are on CBS sports network and NBC sports network routinely. Of course we have to get back to being a top mid-major team! The ironic thing is the great Siena teams from 2007 to 2010 only had a few Time Warner games on (Doug Sherman did the PBP with Tom Huerter). Time Warner did not start showing 90% of the games until the 2010-2011 season off the three MAAC championships. I think I am going to be getting season tickets next year again better to watch in person anyway!

The A10 TV contract is very big and probably very complicated. So- if ure Siena u would want less strings and no buy out from the TW deal. And I would assume its an individual deal between Siena and TW - not the MAAC. Unlike the ESPN deal!
As for ratings- it would seem to me that they can't be that bad! It's not like interest in Siena has fell off a cliff in the capital region. Hell 6k still showed up the last game- not bad!

(I was there) Let's face it, it's a Thursday night, it's frickin' freezing out and the game's on TV. It's tough for a lot of people to go out the door.

Any idea how much Siena makes off this contract? Does it go all to us or does the maac get their grubby hands on it?

Mark Singelais @marksingelais 10h
Paul Vandenburgh on 1300 AM, talking about Siena basketball: "This coach has got to get this team competing now." Does he watch the games?
LOL.. Singelais always busts balls and I'm glad he did here. People think we (the fans) are bad? How clueless is Vandenburgh? Jimmy was left very little..unlike Hewitt and Fran got when they took the job from fired coaches. I think Jimmy is doing a solid job so far and he DEFINITELY has us competing and on the right track.

I figured it was something like that.

Someone give me a logical explanation why TW-3 wouldn't show the RPI/Union game tonight at 7?? They are showing a college hockey game, but it's Niagara/R.I.T??? And you can't say, "showing it on TV would hurt attendance", because that's been proven to be untrue by a poster

Not sure either is the "home" team. And wouldn't either school welcome the opportunity to grow "their brand" across NYS?
