Alex Kline TheRecruitScoop5m Siena has 2014 Williamsville East (NY) PG Sterling Taplin on campus today Looks great on video. I'm not yet sure he deserves the ESPN rankings though. With that kind of athleticism, he should have more suitors. The Albany City Rocks stats make it look like he really needs to work on his shooting and finishing. Shooting 37% from 2PT and 22.4% from three (67 attempts) with 65% on FTs and not much better in 2012. Hopefully, he develops his skills over his senior year so they catch up to his physical abilities. I'd take him just on potential. He won't have much expectations on him as a frosh with Hymes and Wright around. www.d1circuit.com/roster_players/2653354?subseason=107479I don't know what you're talking about, he's a great shooter.

His game looks Ronald Nored-ish to me is all I'm saying. And there's nothing wrong with that. Defense and ballhandling is good stuff.

Mike Morsell The 2014 guard from DC is down to Radford, Siena, Northeastern, Florida Atlantic and Towson with a decision coming soon.

Some old Indians ,still call it STATE TEACHERS COLLEGE Yes, they do, and bitch when someone misspells Siena. Seems like a double standard. Not necessarily a double standard when one considers UAlbany was formerly known as several different names. Siena has always been Siena, so misspelling it isn't exactly the same thing. However, if you consider it a put down (or it's meant as a put down) then the double standard may apply. Old dudes who remember it as a prior name may not be a put down, rather how they remember the school when they were younger. I remember Albany State (AlbNy, NY) since it wasn't that long ago.

Alex Kline reported on his board today that he is hearing Sterling Taplin will end up at Siena. This would be a very nicepick up if it happens. offers from Hampton, UB, Canisius, Bonnie's, BU, & Cleveland State. Sounds like he might be a good get (for the MAAC level).

Tough to land anyone without an available scholarship. Per Zags, Larrier already cut his list to 10. We are not on it.

Absolutely not! WE have had kids visiting and we have offered ships to 2014 players. Jimmy and Mike Deane openly referred to one kid during the banquet to all guests. Given the transfer rate in D1 ball and the need to upgrade our talent, I would bet my seats that we have two frshment in the Fall of 2014.

Do you know who those players are already? Does Siena lose players every year? How can you offer a scholarship you dont have? during the recruiting process I made sure the school had a scholarship before they could even talk to Lavon... if one told me one will open up other than someone graduating that would be a red flag for me...just saying

Maybe you should aks Jimmy why he is discussing recruits for next year and why he is offering kids scholarships. I can just tell you he said in front of 200 people they are recruiting a really good forward and had been going against JMU for him (which Deane reiterated). I won't mention his name here so the UAlbany and Iona fans don't get all upset. Tapling has been on campus and has reported being offered. Both players would be impact recruits in 2014.
