Close this thread until there is news about any additional players departing.

I disagree. Members of the Class of 2014 are being evaluated and some will be recruited. In the absence of something official (or semi-official on Maurice White, there would be one to give next year. There is one player rehanging from a serious knee injury and another who needs to get in shape for the first time in his Siena career. How either of these situations progresses remains to be seen.

Quadree Smith is rated 20th in the class of 2014 by dmvelite.com, which rates him as a high major talent. He is reportedly 6'7" and 275 lbs.

I just heard (word of mouth) that Fran Mccaffery has offered Tyler Lydon Pine Plains high School (Stissing Mountain Dutchess County) a full scholarship. It appears that Tyler is going to go to a prep school in Maine for his senior year. This kid is a legit 6' 8 1/2" good hands, good feet, excellent mobility and has a smooth stroke. He also can play a smothering defense on the perimeter. Only draw back is that he is from a class C school. Would love to see him in Green and Gold.

So if we are assuming Burdine is gone and we White isn't coming we have 1 scholarship for next year.
At this point without seeing all the players under the current system now, do you have a preference for a position you think we should be targeting?

The last time I talked with his mother siena had not offered, and just before Mitch left he told me they were very interested and intended to offer. Not sure if the has been any change in that.. I will try and check with the parents and see if siena has actually offered. While this kid may very well go to a big school, he may just like to stay close to home. Personally I will not be surprised to see him in a Syracuse uniform

two new names:
Aary Bibbens (6-4 forward) City Rocks-Orange/Mt. St. Vincent: A long, athletic guard that contributes in all phases of the game. His length, quickness and fast hands allows him to be a lock-down defender. On offense he is a capable scorer, both attacking the rim or shooting on the perimeter. His athleticism allows him to finish above the rim, as well. Has heard from Hofstra, Siena.
Ray Jerome (6-2 guard) City Rocks-Black/Albany Academy: Lightning quick point guard. Pressure does not bother him at all. Can split or go around double teams and makes it look easy. Gets into the paint at will off his quickness. Shoots very well from 3-point land. Some very tough finishes, and a dunk in traffic here. Looks to score first, but can also create for others. James Madison, Boston Univ. and Siena show early interest.

From Alex Kline:
2014 Albany City Rocks point guard Sterling Taplin is being carted hard by Boston, Buffalo, St. Bonaventure, Cansius and Siena. He was on the Buffalo campus last week. The old staff was fairly close with Taplin, who will have to establish a new rapport with new coach Bobby Hurley and his group.
