Don't do that to MTS. His blood pressure is already through the roof with the way the Raiders are playing

We'll get to see him when JP schedules another Maryland school Please no more Loyola or Cornell or any AE team outside of UA/Vermont. I like Siena playing in the Baltimore/DC area but let's play George Mason, Towson, Georgetown, Maryland, GW etc...schedule needs to improve big time especially since it looks like we should have an excellent team over the next few seasons. To keep it in the recruiting thread mode: Let's hope Fisher commits soon. Would be a great player for Jimmy and the staff to sign! How do you know it would be a great get? Honestly. There is no video and pretty vanilla stat lines out there for HS and especially AAU. Comes from a losing HS program. Is all of this certainty based off of having "faith in the staff" I just don't know how you know enough about him to make a claim he would "be a great player for Jimmy and staff to sign!" Please tell me what you know

Please tell me what you know For one thing he is the 47th ranked PF in the country by ESPN/Scout, here is how that stacks up against other recruits: Maurice White #93 SF Javion Ogunyemi #147 SF Lavon Long #145 PF Marquis Wright #159 PG Mike Wolfe #171 PF Imoh Silas #62 PF Robert Poole #148 SG Evan Hymes #159 PG Rakeem Brookins #39 PG Trenity Burdine #68 SF Oderah Anosike #94 PF Clarence Jackson #85 SG Steve Priestly #124 PF Chris Delarosa #97 PG Ryan Rossiter #179 PF So yeah, as worthless as the rankings turned out to be for the freshman last year who were ridiculously underrated, I would be quite thrilled if we could land a kid ranked the #47 PF in the country. That is higher rated at his position than anyone but Brookins since 2007.

That is higher rated at his position than anyone but Brookins since 2007. I posted this on the MAAC board the other day. I, too, have some fears about this one. I just don't know what to expect. From the links I posted earlier:
He was 4 for 27 from three in AAU but 6 of 11 from three as a junior. That's 10 of 38, or 26%.
87 of 147 from the FT line over same stats. That's 59%.
In AAU, he barely finished his 2 pointers at over 40%.
Now, keep in mind, these articles are calling him a shooting big man.
Is it not possible that given the limited timeframe that the coaches are allowed to view players he just happened to play well and maybe above what he usually does?
Guys improve and develop and there are always varying circumstances but I am certainly going to take more of a 'wait and see' approach with this one. I'm not gonna say he's a shooting big man without some proof that he can shoot.
And there's very little video out there, and no write-ups, so I have no idea about this guy. Always scary in these modern days when you can't find much video on either of your two recruits.
Also, keep in mind that Fisher's HS team was 4-23.

Bisping was shooting over 80% from the FT line already in HS. You knew he was a shooter. Is this guy really a shooter? If not, can he block shots and defend well enough to be a center?

Not yet KK but like I said on the MAAC board he is a 6'8 player and that is DI size... add that someone saw him hit a 3 pointer and put the ball on the floor hence the high ranking. He plays in the top HS league in bmore and is arguably the best big in the league. Its the potential they are excited about. He is expected to improve over the next year before college

Didn't you also call him a future first teamer the other day? This is a bit of a different tune. There's no film. I haven't seen him play. I'm just going on past results here. As long as we're all clear that there are at least some question marks here. I'd rather get a guard but that's just me. JO and Wolfe should be ready to go by then. And guards win championships.

Agreed and Siena has big guards Yes he will make first team in his HS league... I didnt say project...he is a kid with elite size if he can improve his skill set enough to take advantage of it... his interest began to show as a 10th grader and we all know bigs take a little longer....there are so many 6'8 guys that go HM and dont see the floor til jr year.

The 6'11" McLimmoms kid that Siena wanted went to Michigan and RARELY saw the court. Be careful what you wish for.

For those complaining that Patsos isn't recruiting high enough, here's a recap of highly-regarded recruits Siena has offered and who we lost out to for them:
Elijah Burns - Notre Dame Emmitt Holt - Indiana Sam Miller - Dayton
Looks like Patsos has been recruiting pretty high after all. In addition to those guys, they have an offer out to Quincy McNight who has an A-10 offer on the table (Dayton) and they pulled the offer to Taplin who had a couple of A-10 offers. They are waiting to hear from Evan Fisher, a 3 star big man with at least a coupe of A-10 offers. If they land him, Patsos went 1-4 in securing a recruit with higher offers. I'm not sure how anyone can argue with that result. It wasn't like the revered Fran McCaffery was landing such guys left and right either. Fran landed Ubiles, Anosike, and a bunch of guys with about the same accolades as the guys Patsos has landed so far. He got Basabe after a run of 3 NCAA appearances with back to back wins - Basabe doesn't return Fran's calls otherwise. If anyone wants to see Basabe and Ubiles types regularly signing with the program, it's got to become a consistent championship program again first. You build to that with the unknown gems like the Hasbrouck, Franklin, and Moore. I believe that is what we are seeing right now in the recruiting selection.
I like where the recruiting is heading so far for the most part. My only complaint echoes KK's a bit: why are we pursuing so many big men when the biggest need is athletic guards who are quick and are shooters? If Fisher and Wormley are part of a 3 man class with such a player to come later, then fine. But if Gottfried is getting the 3rd scholly, I don't get why one of the only two school's being given out this year didn't go to a scoring combo guard who shoots 40% from three.

Soffer committed to Loyola. He's EXACTLY what we still need for the '15 class. A great shooting wing!! I do expect the staff to keep some kids on the radar, even though we technically have no scholarships right now to offer.
