I'm not a hater or a bandwagon fan. I was just surprised how awful the RPI is, with all the positive talk and tough schedule I thought it would be slightly better. Last year it was constantly brought up, this year doesnt really matter or its a free pass.

Jimmy could go winless the rest of the year and its not an issue, He was left next to nothing. You know this and only bring it up to start trouble..please give it a break.

Not sure what the RPI is, but we haven't played this tough a schedule in a long time. Big 10 (2), A-10 (3), Memphis, UA and UVM.
We need some more NJIT in our life!

Actually I wish next year's schedule was this year's (it isn't bad but no BCS programs or tournaments) but in the long run this schedule will prepare us and get the team better. After the Buffalo trip the schedule gets much more favorable. We survived it ... 2-7 isn't a pretty record but we knew we'd take a bunch of lumps early on. I expect we'll do very well with next year's schedule and then you load up in 2015-16 (extempt tournament, some good BCS teams) when the current freshmen are juniors.

When you say rest of the year for going winless, you mean 2013 right?? This team is very capable of winning 10-14 games when all is said and done IMHO, and I will venture to guess I am not going to be the only one a little annoyed if they don't. Sorry, but at this point in the schedule the Freshmen jitters should be all but gone and we should see some 'coming together' and refinement over the next 2-3 weeks with the lighter schedule. Hoping the chaotic substitutions minimize and we desperately need to break down the film to show these kids why the whistles are being blown repeatedly causing our 'foul woes' (John Cahill we need you to meet with Jimmy and kids during that film session!) I would like to see increasing amounts of Michael Wolfe in the mix and I believe that is going to happen. Luke is doing a great job with the big men, and Gregg and Lou round out a cohesive, quality supporting coaching staff. We have MUCH more going for us than the one trick pony to OD last year. Not exceeding that record is unacceptable to me.

While 2-7 is nothing to write home about lets remember that these are young players who have had exactly 2 home games so far. Of the 9 games, 6 have been against "up" competition and Siena is tantalizingly close to being 3-3 against them. This team has shown that they can hang with Purdue both away and on a neutral court, they beat one A-10 team and nearly beat another. They have 2 games left against teams from "better conferences" and I would go with 3-5 anyday (could have been 5-3!) with that schedule.
So aside from the record, how are they doing? After nine games Siena is outrebounding it's opponents by 39-37 per game. Siena is averaging almost 2 more assists per game than their opponents. Despite losing their leading scorer, they are averaging 7.4 more points per game(against better competition) than last year's team. There is a lot to look forward to. Yes fouls are a big problem for 3 interior guys, all of whom are still learning, and in at least 3 games had to play against a 7 footer. I like their chances the rest of the way.

Fran Fraschilla -twitter:Siena showed flashes of solid play at Old Spice. Love 4 frosh, Poole and Bisping. Competitive & better than preseason pick.

6. Sleeper player. Who's the surprise player after nine? It's hard to not list a Freshman here, but I can't seem to pick one over another, so I'm going with Brett Bisping. He has the skill set and size to be an effective forward in the MAAC, and I don't think he had much of an opportunity to display that last year. It took more than nine, but I think it's turning out to be correct.
