Oneindian So you want to break the bank to play powerhouses Davidson, The George Washington, Duquesne, St.Bonaventure, St. Joe's, LaSalle, George Mason, Rhode Island? The hard cold reality is that the A10 without Xavier, Dayton, Butler, St.Louis, Temple, and VCU may not be worth the financial investment without further due diligence. Capice? This is the group of folks that think dunkin donuts bagel breakfast sandwiches are great. They don't notice the processed eggs or the disgusting "bagel" bread. It's good enough for them. Well god bless you, it's not for me. I want Siena to move up and compete at the highest leVel. Frankly I would rather starve then live your life of mediocrity. So easily satisfied with a subpar existence, like our previous coach! No thank you! [/quote] Yeah but making a cool million while being a failure is downright ingenious............

I agree with everyone in this thread except glens falls, who probably has never paid 300 per ticket to see 10 games against the likes of Marist, Rider, Monmouth quinnipiac etc

Basketball wise Siena has much more in common with the current A10 than they do with the MAAC. There isn't a doubt in the world that being in a conference with LaSalle, St Joe's, VCU, George Mason, Richmond, UMass etc is far better than being in a league with Iona, Fairfield, Manhattan, Quinnipiac etc... If we get the chance to go we should without a second thought and I believe the admin feels the same way. It's an extreme longshot but the question is what league would you choose if it was between the Big East or A10? I think we might be split on that one. Yes the Big East is high-major but I would not want Siena to become Providence or Seton Hall. The A10 would really be perfect...competing would not be a problem with a good coaching staff and system and it would enable us to contend annually for at-large bids and potentially get a high seed (4-7 range).

MTS excellent Post However, Siena has not gotten an invite to either league. Our future , probably for teh next 10 years, is in the hopefully capable hands of JP. He must be our new saviour .
If our future is in the hands of people like Fr. Kevin or even D'Arg , then as Tony Soprano ussed to say " fa git about it".
Please God spare us from the inmates that run Siena and bless Saint Jimmy.

I would take the Big East in a heartbeat. Villanova and Georgetown coming here every year? Plus a home and home with Syracuse might actually be possible as a Big East member while it is very doubtful in the A10.

Never mind. I just got it. If Siena was in BE maybe they'd be willing to play us.
