In addition to turning the program around- winning season and some sort of post season. I think it’s important Jimmy start winning games against UA—and no offense to Bonnie fans but Siena shouldn’t be losing often to Bonaventure or Fordham- the former coach lost to them like it was his job

140 days from today Siena will open the Patsos era against UAlbany...first games can be tricky but I expect to beat the Danes. Losing two out of three to them is unacceptable and one of the many reasons there was a coaching change. Also the games against UA, Fordham, St. Bonnie, Hofstra are important because the rest of the OOC schedule is very tough. Protecting the home court especially will be important and those four games are all at the TUC this season.

I have always thought that you make a name for yourself by dominating the league your in and not by which league your affiliated with. If Siena kept dominating in the MAAC for the last three years and beyond coupled with a strong OOC schedule they would always be in the "national" conversation. I also think they would get good seeds come tournament time and be looked at as a solid choice if they were to lose in the conference tourney. I also would like to move up in conference for the numerous points that have already been talked about on this board but I believe they can be a "national" program staying in the MAAC.

No thanks, I prefer to watch the highest level of basketball possible and the MAAC isn't it.......I hope you're in the minority.

When did UAlbany become Duke? Siena should always expect to win the game. Of course it's game one so anything can happen with a new coaching staff and many inexperienced players.

Yeah, I expect to beat Albany every year. In addition, it would be nice beating Bona every time we play. I have many friends in the Bonaventure community and that makes me want to beat them even more!!!

It is what it is, but the maac sucks. The sooner we are out the better. Despite all the evidence, I still have my doubts as to whether or not our admin is serious about the a 10, and especially about how serious the a10 is considering us, especially considering we went with patsos.

I think the Siena admin wants to go and probably BADLY wants to go but because of our spotty history there was no invitation up until this point. I don't know who you wanted for a head coach but Patsos is plenty good enough to get Siena into the A10. First off you need a guy that will sell and promote the program - big question answered there. Of course he'll have to win and win big. Toole or Rhoades are good coaches but I don't think they would have put us any closer to the A10 then Patsos would have. Richard Pitino got a Big 10 job so he was never going to come here and even if he did he was at best a two year coach if that. I agree that we need to get out of the MAAC... but hosting the tournament satisfies me for now. Eventually I believe Siena will win in the A10. But we have to get back to winning games and going to the postseason and winning games there too.

We get the new facilities done, get back on top with winning, step by step, put things in place and the A10 will come calling.
