You have to like the way John Murray (a former Siena player himself) thinks: "How quickly can we start?"
Naming rights are up for sale. First there was the "Alumni Recreation Center", then came the "Marcelle Athletic Center". Could we soon be christening the "Hoopjunkie Basketball Complex at Siena College"?

Cant wait to see what Jimmy can do on the recruiting trail with those facilities- it will put us on par with better programs in the A10

Didn't that article just rehash a bunch of stuff that was already known? I'm not sure anything new was said, right?
On another topic with 6/30 on us it appears Siena is no where near officially announcing its intentions to leave the maac. If 6/30 comes and goes what is the earliest season Siena could leave without having to pay $1MM? 2015-2016?

Yes all that was known- but this is the BoT “official “blessing of the project. Siena already had the best facilities in the MAAC and this upgrade will put us on par ( and actually better than most) with the better programs in the A10.
As for Siena going anywhere- currently no openings in A10. Only thing Siena can do is get their “program” in order. Siena was one of the worst teams in Division 1 last year. We got beat by UA- Bonnies, Fordham etc.. had 3 straight losing seasons- despite the superior facilities Siena was not a hot commodity thanks to the former coach. With new coach, facility upgrades and MAAC tournament returning to our home floor- the future is bright. Let’s get back where we belong on top of the MAAC and worry about conference affiliation when there is an opening

Have to agree with Tony, first things first. 5 years ago the college basketball world knew exactly who Siena was. Butler had no problem capturing national attention in the Horizon League. Play a decent OOC schedule, win all or most of them, and you get your ticket to the dance, and then the fun begins. Let's not worry about the A-10 or the Big Catholic or any other conference for now, let's just whup ass and dust off the dancin' shoes.
