Mitch's hiring was all political by Herr Kevin, who wanted to be a do gooder and give an unqualified Mitch a second chance. Mitch performed about the same as he did at FF, he was a poor recruiter and therefore couldn't compete. He was also a poor to mediocre coach. I would rather haave a p----k as a coach who knows how to win than a nice guy. Herr Kevin's hoped for do good story became a travesty on how to ruin a program. Siena has no consistency ( and therefore hasn't moved up in league) due to a failure of the AD and school officials to follow successful coaches with blind nepotism on the next hire. I hope this last travesty doen't cost us our one-time opporunity to move up to the A-10. If it does Kevin should get a hard boot to his fat ass. LMAO - all true.

He gives kudos to Mike Buonaguro in this piece. Man, is this what it looks like when writers operate without editors? It's obvious that his views on Castelli and Mitch are biased by his personal relationships with them. Which is fine, but as a result he's chosen to ignore that this is a business and win/loss records are going to be the ultimate barometer upon which coaches are judged. Not only that, but also take shots at the very readers who would help pay his salary.

Amedio is fine when he is reporting a game—once he gets into editorials he is out of his element—look at the man he probably never played a sport in his life. When it comes to understanding the game- the man is clueless and he has shown it over and over. Which goes back to why he blocked comments on his blog- he has trouble defending his weak positions not to mention his faulty facts.

They underscored Amedio's hypocrisy. When it was mentioned in the comments that Mitch failing miserably as well at Fairfield was evidence he wasn't cut out to be a head coach, Amedio dismissed that as ancient history that was irrelevant in the present. Yet he used the opponent scout Mitch drew up in 1985 for the Villanova championship as evidence of Mitch's genius - a game that predates his Fairfield tenure and played in the pre-shot clock era. It was kind of hard to take Amedio seriously after that.
