I think we all agree the school can admit them, but if they were recruited, that have to count against the 13. Getting them in and not counting means they can't play. What was your point? I'm not sure where you got "getting them in and not counting means they can't play". The point actually is , there ARE ways around this and colleges know them. According to EVERY report, Buie applied for admission to Siena, he was not recruited. I'm sure he was recruited out of high school as well and even though he didn't come initially, he would be considered as recruited, even if Siena didn't re- recruit him as a transfer, which is highly doubtful.

Holy shit, Silas is jacked! His arms are huge - what a transformation. He looks like he's put on about 15-20 lbs. If Cole is truly the 6'5 height he's been listed at, then comparatively based on these pics, Lavon appears to be a solid 6'7 and Wolfe 6'9 as listed. Wolfe needs to shadow Silas in the weight room - he looks really skinny and is probably a year away from contributing. This new Siena team will be big and deep with players who can contribute - the question is: will it be talented?

I was really impressed with Silas ....the strength and conditioning guy knows his stuff....Silas has been going hard for the past month trying to build mass to play bigger ....I can't wait to see what Lavon will look like in six weeks ...
Wolfe loss what he gained over the season...Silas will lead by example

Great job on the highlights! I'm getting excited just thinking about these kids playing pick-up together all summer , getting used to each other. Seeing the way Lavon can handle the ball is going to put a lot of pressure on our opponents' defense. Looking at the advancement physically of Silas,(and hopefully also a year's improvement in his game), the way Lavon and Wright can penetrate and dish off the ball. Wow! Our big men should be getting a lot of points inside off of assists of Lavon and Wright. We are going to have multiple playmakers on the floor. That is something that hasn't existed in the last few years.

PPC, Silas is expected to make a giant leap this year. His main concern is avoiding foul trouble. Bret has been battling Imoh in the scrums. He was sick a good portion of last year and rarely used. He's looking good both in scrimmaging and the weight room workouts. I expect him to make a significant leap this year. Rob Poole is a solid all around player. I'm looking forward to seeing Lavon and Marquis display their skills.

I want 70+ blocks out of Silas this year. The challenge has been made.
At his current block rate he would have had 61 blocks in 1000 minutes, as a rookie. He clearly had the jitters last year, too...especially early on.
I want 40 blocks and 40 steals out of Lavon. If that happens Siena can be top 5. If not, we're very soft compared to FF, Manhattan, and even Marist with Lewis and Kemp, etc. Quinny may even lead the league in rebounding. And Laury may have some help at Iona. We need at least two defensive playmakers to make a dent in this league. These 2 are the key to the season in my opinion.
Hymes and Wright should be fine taking care of the in a more flexible system. Poole will muscle back up again, and Bisping can come off the bench for points. But Silas and Lavon have to make their presence known on D or it's gonna be a long season defensively.
I'm not convinced we'll be playing big with Lavon at the SF a lot so these guys have to play tough. Wolfe looks even skinnier than in video, although the kid IS a jumping jack. Ogunyemi is a wild card. Don't know what we'll get out of him this year. It all comes down to these two. God forbid either gets hurt.

Lavon is a SF KK you are gonna have to accept that ...he has the skills to play there ...Patsos has no doubts there ....he will play some 4 but he is a 3...this next 6 weeks will be great for the guys to come together .....Wolfe will be fine on a steady weight and nutrition program ...he lost what I saw he gained back in March....

Wolfe needs to be adding weight, not losing it. He's going in the wrong direction. If he wants to play a lot of minutes, he needs to get up to at least 230 lbs. That's right around the weight where Ryan Rossiter started being able to contribute.

Again, not a reflection on Lavon. It's a reflection on whether the rest of the team is better off because the PFs aren't ready. As I said before, the three most ready may be Lavon, Bisping and Silas. Jimmy is going to have to cater to that. Wolfe is a rail, albeit athletic. Ogunyemi needs to get tougher. If they aren't ready, Lavon could be playing in a 4 guard lineup a lot.

Ogunyemi is ready to start at the 4. That's why Patsos has already stated he's starting there. Have faith that Patsos likes what he sees from JO and knows what he's doing.

Ogunyemi is ready to start at the 4. That's why Patsos has already stated he's starting there. Have faith that Patsos likes what he sees from JO and knows what he's doing. He also said Hopper would play some too. At the time, he'd only been in Albany for a week. If JO is ready to contribute, good, but I'm not counting on it. A lot of people also thought Gomis would play a lot. Not saying it's the same thing, as it isn't, but you never know until the games start. This kid is a frosh and, in my eyes, he doesn't look quite ready yet. Wolfe and Ogunyemi are going to get pushed around as frosh. So defensively they're probably gonna be way behind in the paint. If that's the case, then it comes down to a contest of offensive skill...and Bisping probably wins that battle 9 times out of 10 at this stage of their careers. While they can shoot some, they are not nearly the shooter that Bisping is and he's probably also stronger at this point than they are. I see both JO and Wolfe as fill-in guys this year right now, not ready for major contributions. Next year, that could change. I think it's going to be the 3 of Lavon, Bisping and Silas manning the paint the majority of the time with Poole moving over to SF to allow for a quicker 2G. I think the staff is going after Buie for a reason. Jimmy may have to do the same trade-off as Mitch did this year. Sacrifice height for scoring and defensive pressure. Jimmy talks a good game in preseason about the frosh. I've followed him the past couple years. When the season starts, he relies on experience. He even reshirts a lot of frosh. I think just Lavon and Wright are the major contributing frosh this year. After that it's a battle to get 10 mpg. I was hoping Wolfe would come in with more bulk and change this but it looks like he has a way to go.

Just speculation ... If Buie ends up at Siena he will eventually start at the 2 spot and that moves Poole back to 3 where he really belongs. That leaves JO Silas and Long in the post w/ Long getting time at 3 and 4.

I've never been big on labeling kids and their positions. Our best starting team would be: Wright, Buie, Poole, Long and Silas. If that means Long is a "4" then he's a "4." This usually means defensively anyways. I like having 4 guys on the floor that can handle and shoot the ball with one legit post presence. Anytime you start a step out PF, it makes you very difficult to guard. Long having a PF's body will allow him to guard opposing PF's and make him a problematic match-up on the offensive end.
