My personal take on it is that it was a comment on the failure of the era, not a personal attack on the man. Was it meant to grab the attention of the reader? Definitely (and by the posts I'd say it succeeded). Was it meant as a verbal assault on the prior coach? I wouldn't say so. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but to call the article or the author classless is a little more than I'm willing to do. I understand the "stylistic" angle. It was "Jim Rome-like". I guess my opinion is not so much the comment itself, but the highlighting it by some here. I was hoping the "stink" of negativism was going to be gone for a while, but it seems to be too deeply ingrained at this point or maybe it is still too early in the process to shake it.

Precisely. I wasn't referring to the article. Please let me say this one more time.
John 8:7. "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
Please stop.

I'm confused - the author is throwing stones? Or we're stoning the author?

' ' Apparently it’s OK to attack a writer who writes a very positive story on Siena, but it’s not OK to accurately describe the last 3 years – and I don’t want to hear this crap Mitch is a good man- nowhere in the article did the author state that he wasn’t . It’s hard to argue what type of Coach Mitch was and the fact he misrepresented himself to the college and the fans on what style of ball he would play. We have spent way too much time on this: Mitch is quite justifiably gone- let's move on
