agree with PPC - prep year exposes him for everyone else to recruit. REdshirt year locks him up and he learns our system while getting use to college and having a strength program

Then locking him up now and red-shirting makes perfect sense.

Wolfe and Lavon want to go to school together and be roomates ...Wolfe also likes Patsos and the staff ...it is possible that he will visit on thursday and should love the campus just as much as we did I hope

Regarding Wolfe or Jiggetts - Promise I don't mean this in a disrespectful manner but from what I've seen - pass on both. Jiggetts doesn't have amazing quickness so he too small to compete at the guard spots. Wolfe reminds me of Gary Holle - good size and athleticism but is pretty thin so he will be manhandled in D1. Best thing for him is a year of prep to see if he can fill-out and if not a lower level of ball would probably be most fulfilling for him. Again, this is my opinion based on what I've seen so I could be wrong and there is no disrespect intended to either. Wolfe has been building his body. The summer before his senior year he added 15 lbs. of muscle. He's up to about 215 lbs. now. By way of comparison, Silas is 6'8, 218. Another 15 lbs. on Wolfe and he's a solid 6'9, 230 lbs.

We need another big. Wolfe is an athlete who can drive and shoot some. It's guys like that who surprise you sometimes and turn into an Erik Etherly. I take him. The guy doesn't have to be Anosike down low as a frosh. RyRo came in at like 190. Look for ball skills and athleticism now. Let the strength catch up.

With all due respect—if Silas gets hurt—a kid thinking of red shirting or going prep isn’t going to help much this year either. We don’t have many ships left- if the staff doesn’t think Wolfe has tremendous “upside” we have to pass. For bigs this year we have Silas, Bisping and JO all that can play the 5 if necessary
What it comes down to, does the staff feel they can get a better player over the summer. Because if we sign Wolfe and White we have no ships left for next year. And yeah you can say we might not get White ( if he doesn’t qualify or some other reason) but we really don’t have any 2G on the roster, Poole can give you some minutes there depending on the opposition – but would generally be a liability on defense at the 2- we don’t know the status of Oliver and unless Adu shows massive improvement with his “handle” he isn’t capable of giving many minutes at the two – guards win at the MAAC level and we are currently very weak at the 2

We are in big trouble if we plan to use Bisping at the 5, and I have doubts that JO can play big in the paint. Silas is foul prone. We have Hymes, Wright and even Lepp....I feel strongly that Patsos should use the last ship and use it on a big body for the middle. Martens would of been clutch to have back. Even a wide body space eater at 6'8-6'9" to take up space and get minutes when Silas has to sit. Way more important to have a big with the last ship than another guard.

Wolfe is athletic a solid 6'9" and at 17 is probably not done growing. Next season is a building year if we need to redshirt him so be it.... I think he has a lot of potential. He looked very talented on the clips I've seen.

Well I'll say again you cant win in the MAAC without guards.. not many big bodies you are going to get this late in the game that are difference makers. And it certainly doesn't look like Wolfe would be much help next year anyway- I dont think he is as good as JO - why burn a ship on a kid that will either red-shirt or not play- and it appears that what we are looking at with Wolfe- Bisping can shoot and I agree we are screwed if he is playing 20 min a game, but he would be fine for spot duty- he is Jimmy's kind of big man ( he can shoot) at the MAAC level bigs often make their biggest jump between their freshmen and sophomore years . I guess it comes down to what the staff wants, if he is coming in this week, I would guess the staff wants him

What about White he's a 2. Anybody know anything about this kids ability?
“After decommitting from Loyola (MD), Maurice White is attracting serious attention from Georgetown and Miami, his coach says.”
Gotta be able to play some .... !
So maybe White and Wolfe workout to be just fine.

Wolfe's upside sounds terrific.
